Is on it's way BACK....I can't sit here and name all the stuff that has & is coming out this year....BUT i feel very strongly about this & my opinion isn't an opinion IT IS A FACT! Go ahead name all the stuff that has been & will be (possibly) released in 2002....You got PAIN, NU-IMAGE, WILLIE VALENTIN, SHARYN MACERYN, CHRISTINA MARIE, CORO, GIOIA, TKA plus more.......This year has been HOT and my CRYSTAL BALL says it'll continue!

plus a possible resurgence of a LABEL

Hate to disagree with you bro.....but, I'll make it short and sweet and just say this:

There can be 10 new freestyle songs coming out each week; that doesn't mean the commercial world will pick up on it all. The music world as a whole does not care for us, thus neither does the radio. Sure KTU, for example, plays freestyle. That, however, is just to please the select group of music listeners who still want to hear some. Also, that select group would rather hear Stevie B's old school than Willie Valentin's slammin new school. Just my opinion.

I DO HOPE I AM PROVED WRONG ONE DAY....BELIEVE ME 🙂

I suggest we find one song that we can all agree on and call KTU like crazy to request its airplay. we did it with CYNTHIA'S & SA-FIRES song, we can do it again.

well up here in toronto there is only one station that plays freestyle (z103.5) and they do play new and old but the old always seems to dominate. ths year ceres, sweet tb, prima donna, kathy phillips and others were hot but when requests come it tends to be the old classics. even at clubs it the clubs promitted by this station that tend to play the freestyle. I'd be nice to hear freestyle played on other stations but i doubt it will happen with everything hip hop and pop like being hot it will be hard...(just my opinion and view)

I love all of Willie Valentins Productions and prefer listening to him, that boy is good.

King, as much as I want to believe it babyboy, but I have to agree with Anthony on this one.

Kenny, getting people to agree on a song is difficult cause not everyone will like the same thing.

For any type of freestyle to be played on regular rotation on KTU, it has to be commercialized, like Safire's song "Can you Stand the rain" if you make a true freestyle song, which is what alot of people want, it will not get played no matter what. Well that is my opinion.

Unless it's a new Naya record. Holla !!!!

i dont think freestyle will get heavy rotation because its just not what people like right now...only a few like us but hey feel special cuz we are the chosen ones lol...

Let's stop being negative about this. Anything is possible in the music world.

Anthony: -Right! Radio will play whatever the average fan desires. It is all based on demand. This does not only go for freestyle.

Nyasia: punk rock broke from small club performance and cheesy independent labels to mainstream music. Green Day was proof. Lets do the same with freestyle.

I agree with Kenny on Safire/ Cynthia- Can You Stand The Rain. It had its days and I do believe that if there were more money to commercialize that single it'd be given its proper airplay on radio stations like the new one by Sammy- Heaven. We did however do our part when we called and supported the track and bought the single. However that wasnt enough.

To me any kind of music can be appraised just as long as we appraise and represent it the right way to people who are not familiar with it.

orgntr, I am with you on this anything is possible, but you have to believe and alot of people don't beleive 🙁 unfortunately alot of what I read on here is negative toward freestyle. How old school and new school are pitted agains't each other when it's the same music!.lol

I for one would love nothing more than to see freestyle come back and blow everyone out of the water and shut off all the bad stigma that comes along with freestyle, but it takes alot, and I wonder if people really do love it that much, that they will go the extra mile for it.

You're right, anything is possible. But the FANS must show more demand for new material. They have to support more. I don't see many fans at the shows, just on boards. Everything is on boards, never in physical support. Just a limited few, very small.

^ Exactly. Too much "talk" on the boards. I go to any shows I can. I went to the one on the Bronx this past monday. I'm going to the Diamante Show tomorrow. While I do that, people (from NY) will be on the boards typing away. I guess that's their support lol

well personally up here in toronto i go to the shows when they come but its rare but when a feestyle artist comes up here im there, last year johnny o, cynthia, elissa, joee and lil suzy were up here and i was there and the place was jammed packed so its not all...

I hear ya. I'm just disappointed in the lack of fan support there is down here. They seem to only come out when the show is supposed to be a big one. Sorry, but that aint cool 🙁 Big show, small show, get off the damn computer and check out the music you love in person. Doesn't have to be every show, I certainly can't make every one, but come on...

(BTW, this is really referenced towards the metro area people;
NY ~ NJ)

But hey, when the artists retire early due to lack of fan support, we get to see them type how sad they are that there are almost no more artists performing! lol

Well I think that everyone on here that posts that lives right mas o menos where the artists play show up to these shows, maybe not all the time....but somewhat at least. Everyone else, like myself, cant because we just live too far or 2. they are artists/producers/entreprenuers....we got too many of those on here, or 3. they are under age to even attend to one of these events. This is why we need to spread this music beyond its origin points.

Another thing.... a negative plus a negative dont make a positive.

I personally suggest anyone who is doin freestyle to do other forms of music if they would like to further their career, and that comes from a freestyle die hard..producer and fan. My first artist (Tribu Central) were molded first into freestyle... it just didnt work..NO LATIN LABELS WANTED FREESTYLE..( or any labels at that)..now we have just signed with 24k Records, (oro solido-mannikomio and banda flaka)which is now a Sony Records affiliate.....and we got signed because of our alternative to freeestyle-"latin pop"...Although we WILL be releasing Nick Colon's Freestyle Album "Believe" (under D.O.S. Records)in the near future.... Nick and I have started the production of a "crossover" project...believe me....Nick and I and even Tribu LOVE freestyle...but we have come to terms with the dim forcast of it's future.......Radio programers dont want freestyle...there is very LOW turnouts to freestyle events, and the potential fan base is almost non existent in the real world--the new generation just doesnt like it--i know there some of u that know of childen that do like it...but they are some of a FEW childeren that do like it.....I did not want to put a negative spin on the music we love, it's just a reality check...Peace ..Pete---D.o.S. records
