With this Father's day coming up this Sunday I'd like to take a moment to honor my papí. He made many mistakes, but he had it hard being a single old world father to a teenage girl. He was possibly the cheapest man alive, but he taught me to spend my money wisely. I have maybe a million funny stories about my dad and this is a thread to share dad, or grandpa, or other father figure (or even your single mom's) stories. They can be funny or sad or mushy. Anyone wanna share a dad story?

I definitely owe so much to my dad for being the person I am today. Yes I was daddy's little girl, actually still am...LOL, but in all seriousness, when he needed to be strict and stern with my rebellious ass, he didn't hesitate. And yes, we've had our differences, but he proved the meaning of tough love and no matter how bad I thought I messed up, or how much trouble I thought I was in, my dad might be angry but still loved me no matter what. By dad taught me what it meant to never give up and always pushed me to strive for what I wanted and there isn't a day that goes by that I'm not thankful for that.

Well being father's day around the corner I would like to give thanks to my father who gave me life. Its a shame as an adult i never got to hang around with him...and its a shame he headed the wrong way. I found it in my heart to finally say Im sorry I was mad at you for so many years and I miss you.

my father was great father

he never once yelled at me or me at him. we have a lot of love for each other. and he never hit me even once. my father was the only person i knew that after leaving in 78. still gave my mom more than what he was suppose to in those days. a great man who was always there.

i remember many times when my father who was an important man in a local college here. actually the vice president.

i remember many times. when my father would think up of lies emergencies or even tragedies

to sneak out of work to take me to a yankee game lol. he and I loved the yankees

i rem in those days the yankees stunk. and it was exciting cuase you didnt know if theyre gonna win or not. unlike today lol.

and he and I plotted endlessly on what would be needed to get the yankees to a division. we spent 8 years arguing what it would take for the yankees to make it to first.

its almost insulting how easy they win today. cuase it destroys years of worrying and arguing and conversation between fathers and sons llol. prob all around the area lol.

today when my father and I talk we dont have much to talk about cuase the yankees win so easily lllol.

I have the best father in thw whole world. He has always been there for me and to this day if i need him i can still count on him to come through for me. As i was growing up he was stern when he needed to be , he made sure he got his point across and he meant business, on the other hand he was also a big teddy bear! He worked hard to provide for us and he made sure we had everything he didnt have the opportunity to have as a kid and for that i love him!!

this is for my step-father,who took the role as dad,at an early age.thank you for taking my mother and i under your wing.it was a big responsibility.growing up,i didnt understand why you were not around that much, and every time you were, you were too tired to do anything with me.i thought to myself, maybe its because im not his real son.through the years,i came to realize, that you were too tired from working, and not around, because you were making your business grow.thats why i had everything i wanted, and everything you two have today.you loved me as much as a real father would his boy.you always took my shit, when you didnt have to.you covered my tracks, when i used to come home late.i didnt realize it till i got older, but you were also my friend, and made sure i never fell.you are what a true man, father, and husband should be.i base my being,on your examples, you set forth.i love you unconditionally, and if i had to,id go through it all over again,i would.thank you for the man i became,a strong, loyal, good hearted, family oriented italian boy! HAPPY FATHERS DAY DADDY!!!!! I LOVE YOU

My dad is a great dad.

Was totally involved in my life, and my brothers' lives. When we went into little league, he became a coach.

When we went into scouting, he became a "pack leader".

He was at parent teachers meetings, cyo meetings, and tons of other stuff.

He was a great wrestler too. 😉

Oh and I forgot my grandpa too. He ws a real sicilian bad ass but he had a heart of gold and would give you the shirt off his back if it was his last shirt! God do I miss that man!!!
