ok who can help me out??

we are having a party :cparty for my mom...i am making my pepper steak stir fry...its similar to the chinnese version...i want to make rice with it

i dont know how...i know u can just boil up some white rice, but how do i keep it from being dry and tasteless???? what goes into the whole thing

and i am on atkins, so i cant even taste the rice :sosad
HELP ME PLEASE!!! :thanks
 
i have some pathmark white
rice here

but i can go out and buy any brand
 
Actually usually if you follow the directions on the box, it comes out pretty good...not to dry or anything. Also another thing that helps, after its done, put a little bit of butter on it, let it melt and then stir and that avoids it being dry and gives it a pretty good flavor.
 
u know i am thinking about getting the rice from the chinesse spot...get a few xlarge orders, lol

cause its for like 20 people


but i wanted to be chef toni and cook it all by myself, LOL
 
Toni that would be your best bet. Me personally I wouldnt want to eat dry,tasteful hard rice. lol So just order out and then learn another time 🙂 but if you still want to know Ill let you know how to do it. I have never done it with the Pathmark brand I do it with Vitarroz and canola rice so those are the ones that I know how to mess with. But like I said before order out and then learn some other time.
 
well mama easy as pie.

1. put some water to boil with salt (to your taste) and oil depends on the pot you have. I like using these pots we call calderos. You can make the best rice in them. The water you use depends on how big the pot is and how much rice you plan to make. my house i use three cups like a coffee mug. That feeds 9 of us. so you feeding a few huh? well then in that case you need a big caldero.
and how many peeps are we talking about?
2. while the water is boiling wash the rice. take out all those lil black thingy's that are sometimes in the rice
3. as soon as it's boiling add the rice stir. do not cover.
4. make sure you cook it high flames first.
5. don't walk away or you'll burn your rice. when the water dries up. lower the flame very low. stir the rice and cover. let cook for about another 10 minutes before you stir again. you'll know when it's done when you taste it and it's not crunchy. lol.

OK HERE IS THE SIMPLE WAY TO MAKE STEAMED WHITE RICE..LOL MAY MAMA TAUGHT ME :heee

FOR EVERY CUP OF RICE YOU USE, YOU USE 2 CUPS OF WATER!!!! IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO ADD FLAVOR LIKE BUTTER OR SOMETHING IT'S 2 TABLESPOONS PER CUP OF RICE!!! I DUNNO ABOUT THE SALT CAUSE I NEVER ADD SALT TO MY STEAMED WHITE RICE.

OH AND YA PUT EVERYTHING IN THE POT BRING TO A BOIL THEN COVER AND SIMMER ON LOW FOR LIKE 20 MINUTES...CHECK TO SEE IF RICE IS DONE THEN JUST CHECK AFTER EVERY 5 MINUTES IF IT ISN'T DONE!!


OH AND 1 CUP OF RICE IS LIKE 4 - 6 SERVINGS


OR JUST ORDER IT AND HAVE IT DELIVERED..... I KNOW OVER HERE THE BIG BOX OF STEAMED RICE IS LIKE A $1 -$2 NO MORE THAN THAT GOOD LUCK!!

Or there's always "CARIDAD" resturant u can buy some rice or at those other resturants that u walk by
outside u can smell the adobo and sazon in the air...
