This is a one-hour new series that will run an hour on each year, 1980-89, covering the best (& worst) of the decade, from Music, Movies, TV Shows, Cartoons, Toys, Fashions, Celebs, etc...
With input & interviews with todays
(& yesterdays) hottest & "long-time-no-hear" celebs.
Im pretty sure some Freestyle artists will be featured or heard.

2-episodes a day at 9pm & 10pm, repeated again at 12am & 1am.
Today they kicked off with 1980 & '81.

I watched it last night and there were some discrepencies.

they said "rappers delight" was debuted in 1980? WTF?

they also mentioned "THE JEFFERSONS" for the year 1981. um, did anyone tell that the show has been around for at least 3 years before that since the 70's?

talk about "not knowing there shit!"
 
I watched it last night and I LOVED it!! I really enjoy going down memory lane and reliving my youth! Yes, Kenny, I agree that The Jeffersons did debut in the 70's, but the show ran through the early 80's, as well!
I have a great memory and even though I was only 5 in 1980, I clearly remember so much about the time....the music, the movies, the trends, the toys...Strawberry Shortcake! Xanadu!! Hall and Oates!!!
I cant wait to see the rest of this series!! I LOVE the 80's!!!

I thought Rapper's Delight was from 1980. I think it came out earlier ('78 or '79) but it was played in '80 (as far as I can remember!!!) :spin

i liked it............

i think it's going to be a good set to have when i get all the shows on my tivo,i'll transfer it to a rec-video disc,😀 according to my tivo they will only play yrs '81,'84 and '87 once the other yrs are bieng played at least twice..........any remember bieng a members only person ahahahahahahahahahhha.........vapro
 
The vh1.com site has 1980-89 listed, & tonight they are showing the years:

"1982" @ 9pm, &
"1983" @ 10pm
(repeated again at 12am & 1am)

The JEFFRESONS 1st appeared on the Archie show "All In The Family", & debuted in 1975, but were still around & popular in the 80's, & "Rappers Delight" blew up in 1980, but was recorded before that.

Last nights episodes 1984 & 85 were kool as sh*t! : P

They busted out wit Breakdancing, Madonna, Transformers, CareBears, Prince, Punky Brewster, & a bunch of otha kool 80's stuff I forgot about. lol.

Tonight they will be covering "1986" @ 9pm, & "1987" @ 10pm.
I wonder what they gonna bring tonight!

I thought about that BUT why didnt they do other shows as well like 3'S COMPANY, THE INCREDIBLE HULK, DUKES OF HAZARD, THE LOVE BOAT. Those shows were as popular as THE JEFFERSONS.

I almost brought out my TRANSFORMERS video collection that i recorded when i was a kid!!

I cant believe how friggin hot PUNKY BREWSTER is! (i know, shes on SABRINA also!)
 
Kenny...they did show the Dukes of Hazard and The Love Boat!!! I guess they cant show everything since they only have one hour to cover a year.

Wouldnt it be amazing if they covered freestyle at all??? I think we would all pass out if we saw that lol

Ok...this is way too funny! I just went to VH1's website to see what else they have on the 80's. Well, they have 80's radio stations and some of the featured artists on it are Noel and Company B!! So who knows? Maybe they will mention some freestyle artists when they cover years like 1988 and 1989!

I'm very much enjoying watching these. I really do :hearton LOVE & miss the 80's!!!!! It would be impossible for me not to watch the next 2 episodes!!!!

they mentioned "CROSS COLOURS" being the biggest thing in 1989. I dont recall them being big that year. I dont even remember them being out in 1989. I saw them big in 91. does anyone else agree?

i know cavariccis, skidz and overalls being huge.
