In NYC handling my biz!!!!
NYPD has made signs saying NO Parking on Sunday due to the Puerto Rican Parade. WTF???? When they have other parades and events on 5th Ave, the signs read "NO Parking on Sunday". That's it! Now that it's the PR Parade they want to piss everyone off. That to me is discriminatory. I should go look for one of those signs when I go out and sue the NYPD. 😛 But seriously, I think it's wrong. I heard it on the news this morning. I was like 😱

Well, wait until end of month, and see if signs go up that say "No Parking on Sunday due to the Gay Pride Parade"...lmao

that is just WRONG - it is like they are singling out Puerto Ricans, when there are countless parades celebrating various ethnicities throughout the year. I don't see signs for the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade that say "NO Parking on Sunday due to the parade celebrating white people landing on Plymouth Rock!!!"
 
Don't read too much into it. See what I get from it is that there are alot of tourist who will ask what is this about why the streets closed and why no parking and blah blah. Thats right it is due to the parade what else is there? due to what? Hell thats more publicity more people coming. so the signs were put up for the dummies.

well that could be true, but stupid people come to New York all year round (and I can verify that for a fact LOL! ) Why don't the same signage rules apply to EVERY parade that takes place....it should be equal I feel...

In Long Island...I think it's a street called 110..on the right side you'll see a church and it has a big sign that says ''Jesus saves little white children'' I was like WTF!!! and what bout little spanish, black & asian kids LOL
 
I'm sorry for not feeling this thread, but you people have to remember that one: The PR Parade is NOT a Big thing Nation/World Wide.

To a tourist, they would have no idea of this parade. (For which is the reason the NYC Commission and DOT has created this particular sign.)

Compare this parade with the Thanksgiven Parade? Ppppshhh. Cmon....do you really think the PR Parade has more notoriety and History than the Thanksgiven Parade?

Nevertheless, I dont see any harm in it. We New Yorkers need to remember that there is Life BEYOND the TRI-States. Please try to keep that in mind.
 
Maybe its a good thing thou. They made the sign saying ''No parking this sunday due to PR Parade'' to let people know that it's this sunday and since this is the only parade they did that for..Our parade is the only one that's important enough to make official parking signs for LOL

6th Avenue ain't shitty...us Cubans march up that block every first week of May (the very first Sunday of the month).
