Home Sick (Confusion3)
Continued:
...It’s a fairytale life, like the one you had before
A place where your faults are unknown and your very existence adored
From the eyes of the flesh you are an idealistic expression...
Flawless, until you see your own reflection
But you know who you really are, and are afraid to except...
The fact that, even who you used to be, couldn’t leave you exempt
From what life has to offer...
Still, you choose to hang around the less fortunate...
In order to garner praise & worship for a love you have forged to permit
Still, fairytales always have good endings, so why not continue the charade
‘Cause deep inside your conscious knows it’s going to cost you more than what you’re being paid
So how would you feel...
If someone did the same and played games with your heart?
How would you feel...
If you knew where you wanted to be, but knew not where to start?
How would you feel...
If the only ones you could trust could do nothing to help?
And no matter how much help you’ve got, you had to get it yourself?
So how about that for some irony?
Do unto others, what you want others to do unto you
So I guess, what goes around, comes around...ain’t that true
Now you’re back to feeling alone, confused and hopeless
Your mind in so many different places you temporarily lose focus
Back to wondering how did you get no where so fast?
Or how were you able to make duller a future that looked so bright in the past?
Making a left instead of a right, and loosening your grip on life
Living a dream in reality’s world and getting caught up in someone else’s Hype!
Where did I go wrong, or do I already know?
Thinking of everyone else got me no where, so should I be selfish...Oh
I see now...
It’s not about me or you, it’s about right and wrong, God & flesh
It’s about knowing when to say ‘No’, and knowing when to say ‘Yes’
And in any situation, instead of always thinking me, me, me...
I must simply remind myself, W.W.J.D.
And remember it like an old movie, or an album lyric
Or the feeling of nostalgia when you laid eyes on a childhood pic
But know that it won’t be easy, so don’t forget...
That until you find your way, confusion will have you feeling home sick
