It's all over the news and the Julian Fantino is scheduled for a press conference at 10:30am today about the arrest. Here are some links to the various news websites. CityPulse was the first to break the news. I know this isn't freestyle related, but it is Toronto related and I think we'll all be happy to know when they finally catch the sick son of a bitch who did this. So I truly hope this guy they arrested is the right guy.

For those of you who don't know who Holly Jones is. SHe was a 10 year old girl who was abducted walking her friend home from her house. The community and the police made a search all night only to find her dismembered body washing up along the lake's shore the following morning after her disappearance.

Hopefully Holly's family can et some peace knowing they caught someone. I hope it's the bastard who did this, so Holly's spirit can rest also. May she rest in peace and the sick F*CK who did this rot in hell!! No death penalty for him. Sick f*ucks who rape and kill and dismember children should not be allowed to die. Just tortured till they beg for death with no relief in sight!
 
That is great great news!!! i am so glad to hear that... i was unaware until i read this thread!! good work by the Police!!! i hope the bastard burns in jail for life... too bad he won't get the death penalty!! it won't bring back holly but at least it will bring some peace to that family! I hope this SOB suffers!!!!!!!! things like this make me so mad!! Knowing that the suspect has been captured by our police makes me a very proud member of Toronto Police.. .the best cops in da world! GOOD JOB!!! And may Hollie's family get some peace!!
 
he's a suspect... so now there will be a trial... so it's not for sure it's him.. they're relating this guy to another child abduction... so hopefully he's guilty so then everyone can sigh in and out with a good relief, knowing that their kids are this much safer.
 
its about time, too bad our country does not have the death penalty. this freak should be shot rather then have my tax dollars give this filthy humanoid a bath once a week and 3 meals a day in an air conditionned jail cell for life. go figure.
 
Bassbump, you should move to Texas if you like the death penalty, they've got plenty of it there. There's many reasons why a lot of countries have abolished the death penalty. I personally find life imprisonment to be more cruel a punishment than death, sure it costs the taxpayers more, but the costs are inconsequential when you consider the tiny number of inmates who would be put to death if a death penalty existed. Also comes the cases of false conviction and the issue of the government's role in taking someone's life.


I agree that this criminal is a sick bastard who deserves severe punishment, and I commend the Toronto police for a job well done! It's a horrible tragedy but at least with the killer captured the residents of Toronto can rest more easily. Sadly there are many parts of the U.S. where it is never safe to allow a 10-year old girl to walk alone. Canadians should work hard to keep their society from going the way of America's, with all the fear and paranoia controlling people today.
 
Whomever the perpetrator of this crime, or crimes of this nature, should honestly in my opinion be treated in the same was he/she committed the act. You dismember somebody, you get the same punishment back.....but much slowly. We remove a piece at an hourly interval just to make you think of how much pain and suffering you have caused the family/community and the victim involved.

That my friends is Justice, not this mamby pamby justice system we have in Toronto. So sick F*cks like these go to jail or some insane asylum, get life, clothed, 3 meals a day, a work-out area to excercise and cable t.v. (What justice is that? Might as well check them in to a local Holiday Inn and provide a room with access to the pool as well!!!)

yeah spyboy is right.. here in toronto our punishments are like hollywood movies == with good endings... i totally agree on ur definition of Justice, if u dismember someone, you should be dismembered! THis piece of shit won't even regret doing what he did because think about it... we will be paying higher taxes to provide food for the murderer, raper, thief, etc. I mean who wouldn't want that kinda lifestyle? Many of us already live that, staying home and watching TV alll dayyyy looonnggg... now imagine all that for FREE? Free food, Free rent, Free TV, free Gym! NICE!

No wonder world's worst law breakers are either in canada or are canadian... :mad
 
I live in Alberta, pretty close to Texas mentality hehe. And, us Canadians do not want to pour our hard earned money into feeding, bathing, clothing and entertaining murderers. Our taxes, which are some of the highest in the world, should go towards reducing deficits, building roads, maintaining universal health care, education, the homeless and elderly. Bring back the damn death penalty! No such thing as a free ride in life.
 
I was away all weekend and didn't hear about this till Monday night when I got back and i was like WTF...they said that it was probably the same guy involved with those attempted abductions in the area, so was there any truth to that link?
 
Come on you all, sure there are horrible crimes, but have you ever heard of a humane justice system? It's what sets Canada and Europe apart from the third-world shitholes. You think it's good for the government to show that killing people is wrong by killing the people who kill? I don't think so and neither do the majority of Canadians. Plus, you said the world's worst law breakers are from Canada? Since when?

I think that the law is as fair as it can be. What if we did have the death penalty? Then instead of being freed after almost 20 years in prison, Guy Paul Morin would be dead.

I hate these miserable sick fux that walk our streets, but I also can't in good conscience support capital punishmet or torture unless there is a way to ABSOLUTELY PROVE beyond ALL doubt (not just the shadow of doubt) that they did it. If we kill one innocent person as punishment for the crime of another, than we are no better than the criminal. And I would hate to think that.

and lets not foreget the guy out of vancouver that killed so many american prostitutues out of the seattle area, and the infamous bernardo...if u ask most murderers if they would do it if they would know they would receive capital punishment the vast majority say no...
 
and to add to what Gina said; u probably do not hear of our famous murderers overseas because, as Canadians, we are like our European counterparts: more conservative and reserved. We do not glamourize crimes and do not make superstars out of them, we do no to turn their stories and daily court appearances into smutt cnn soap operas for the entertainment of the general public.
 
EXACTLY I think most people have heard of Bernardo and his "wife" cuz of that book...otherwise I doubt it...But still most people dont realize the "crazies" we got up here in this country...I think the justice system could work better if it was better inforced
 
I'd like to say that i hope this F&*%$R gets what he deserves, i work within the Canadian legal system and i can tell you one thing for sure... many errors are made and many criminals spend very little time in jail or even get off completely!! i am talking about murderers, rapists, child molesters etc... our system is not perfect and is sometimes in the criminals favour( which is ridiculous) i really do hope that this guy in the Holley case gets Life! and i mean LIFE! not parole after 20 years, no one that kills another human being should have the opportunity to walk free after a few years and terrorize our communities again! i hope he burns in jail! and takes a beating from all the other inmates! many people like myself bust our backs to arrest these guys and having them get off easy for such a horrible crime would be sad, dissapointing and just not RIGHT! as for the death penalty i am not sure what countries Sxychica is talking about but i do know that 90% if not 100% of the countries in Europe do not have the death penalty.... i agree with the death penalty only if there is proof beyond a shadow of a doubt and JADE said.... having the death penalty is a big issue because many innocent people can die and that is not right, even though people like this jerk deserve nothing better than to be tortured or killed as they killed..... but we are in Canada folks and our justice system isn't perfect neither is are any others anywhere in the world... take it from me, i deal with the "scum" of our beautiful city and it's tough to see some of these guys walk free especially when you know they r 100% guilty but as the french say it "c'est la vi"
