First we kicked around why Rock in the mainstream is not getting it done. Now it's time top see what many of the kids have deserted rock for: Hip Hop. For the last few years, like it or not, hip hop has dominated the music industry. Besides Eminem; why do you think hip hop is so dominant, and why do you think white kids in the red states are such big fans of The Game, 50cent, etc.?

I agree I think it is the biggest Genre why because it is the one genre that fuses everything, it goes outside of Hip-Hop giving fans a wider selection of its music it opens its doors to other genres liek Rock, spanish, reggeton,R&B etc etc. Why White s are drawn to it I dont clasify music by color but when you have artist like Kid Rock and Limp Bizquit working with artist like Jay Z your broadening your fan base Outkast did it it wasnt straight Hip-Hop so much so people didnt know what to call it but with songe like Hey yall they opened the door for a bigger fan base same thign with Black Eyed Peas. No other genre is as big as Hip-Hop or will get as big for the simple fact that that genre sticks together goes outside of itself and trys new things creating new fan bases for themselves as well as the people they collaberate with. Not everything uot there sounds good but it gets airplays on stations it otherwise wouldnt exposing it to more kids.

Like Z100 in NYC and our Top 40 station: hot995, Half of the music they play is hip hop, 20 years ago, hip hop on Top 40 radio was unheard of!!!! The Music with merging of Rock and R/B, it has become pretty diversed.

Yup it has and I think it is a beautiful thing otherwise blacks and Latinos would never have been heard Hip-Hop was there voice still is and the fact that it has made it and outlasted when critics said it wouldnt make it shows what happens when forces stick together in an industry run by corporate america.

Have fun bro seriously 🙂

Hey who knows maybe 50cent will hand you the mic to spit some lyrics 😛

yeah thats cool getting it ahead of time 🙂 Bet there is gonna be some fine black ho's there :drool

Hip-Hop is great its an art form for some poetry like Common, Mos Deff, Talib Kwali,Nas Kanye West. Not every Hip-Hop artist out there is good but there aer a lot that are but yu dont see them or hear them on every radio station or Tv channel because they dont sell there souls to this industry to make a dolla they do it cause they love it and for the art form like the artist I mentioned pick any of there albums up and see how good they are and ask yuorself why you dont hear them on regular rotation on the radio stations 😉

Now you are seeing a merger of Hip Hop and Country. Nelly/Tim Mcgraw-Over and Over and Cowboy Troy the first Country MC!!!! Boy this music has grown. I listyen to mostly old school(when it was really an art) and Mos def, Common, Black Eye Peas. They continue to make hip hop an art instead of talking bling and playa player.
