Someone please help me!!

for 2 weeks, my monitor has been getting these weird wavey little images. it distorts my screen. it seems to come and go, but mainly stays. it looks like its trying to get me sea sick!

so, i asked a couple of people and they said it was the monitor. so, i replaced it with a spare monitor that i had and the problem seemed to have had disappeared BUT now ITS BACK!!

So, I came to the conclusion that it isnt my monitor. But what else can it be???????

HELPPPPPP!!!!!!

It does sound like your monitor. Maybe it's the weed <ZZZZZZZZZ## ~~

You can also check if your video card is sitting properly in your PC and if the cable is snug.

Yes your video card can go bad. One thing you have to figure out though is this...is your video card part of the motherboard or is it a separate component?

You might try to see if there is an update for the drivers for the video card before doing anything else though.

thanks, krystal but how do i get an update for my video card?

I know it is probally on a site somewhere but how do i find out what type it is?

ok, i just opened it and the cable does plug into a mother board. now, i have to find the video card!

what am i lookin for?

what does a video card look like?

Foget the updates. That will not solve your prob since it worked fine before any updates. It is a hardware issue. If you have a Video card then follow the monitor wire into the PC. that card is the video card. However you may have 'on board' video.. In that case your video card is part of your motherboard.

You had a similar issue 1 year ago - and you bought a new monitor because of it - correct? Could you be buying cheap monitors that break quickly? You know what I like to tell the cheap bastard prospective sponsors - Cheap is Expensive!
(and you wonder why they dont make it?)

ok, i followed the wire into the comp and it indeed goes into the mother board. so, i cant replace the video card?

i had a similar problem last year but when i bought a new monitor, it was gone. ut i cant remember exactly what the symptoms were. i think this is worse than before.

Yes you can replace it.. it's like $70-80 I think for a good one. Usually they come with RAM too. 🙂

Kenny I saw you in the Italian Place chat!! I knew it was you by the crazy way you spell gwedo. lol 😉

also make sure there are no speakers near the monitor... the magnets in the speakers will distort the video monitor.

yes, i took the speakers down but i think they have a shield in them because it would have happened years ago when i mounted the speakers. im so screwed!

Kenny you are experiencing what southern states to this day are trying to achieve... Integration!!!

LOL!!!

Sorry for the joke at your expense. You have an integrated video card and thus replacing the system board is the only option you have.

:dj

Well, its fixed!! the tech said something went bad on the mother board and he replaced the bad parts. it only cost me $75! boy, am i lucky!!!!

my eyes feels sp much better (and my wallet!!)
