Hi, This is Wanda!

My name is Wanda, I am 24 years old and live in Milwaukee, WI. I have always loved freestyle - I grew up with it. Milwaukee is not a big market for it, and I want to begin singing. Can anyone give me advice, links, websites I can look up or what I can do to get my foot in the door?? Also, where can I get lessons? I have a pretty good voice, and know I can make it. Dj's here have approached me with offers, but they do not follow thru - too busy, not motivated, don't know. So, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you all!!!

I replied to your plea for Midwest Freestyle Phanatix and I'm here to let you know, there are some out this way who occasionally ask me if I know of anyone who can sing, etc. It would help if you've got a demo (karaoke, even) of your self so that we could have a sample to display for those producers who are in the need of new voices. If you're ever in the city, I can steer you in some directions. Otherwise, get a demo together and send it around, you'll never know. E-mail me for any details...

As for the deejays who have approached you with "offers", check their credentials and don't visit anyone on their own turf. Most of us are rather human, but others...

...and don't sign anything without experienced representation...

It's okay to get your foot in the door, it's the other parts that you have to be careful with. I've seen alot. Good luck and be careful...
