I was reading teh paper this morning and I was sick to my stomach with hwo they are handling this tragedy nto for nothing but when it comes down to something over seas this country is like flys on shit all up in the mix but when it comes to its own fukin home they drag there asses. They should have been prepared for this should have had relief stations set up in states surounding affected states and plenty of transportation with volunteers ready to help out, all the shit they are lagging on doing should have been prepared before hand. these poor people are dieing starving shooting just to make sure there familys aer those that get help can you imagine the chaos think about what lengths you would go to put food in your childrens mouths diapers, water the simple shit. Lord kjnows I have been in situations where iaint have money for diapers or milk for my son and I am not ashamed to say it because life can sometimes be fuked up and put you in situations where you are struggling helplessly and I think about how I felt at those times and multiply that by 10 and it tears em up to know what all these people are going through and on top of that there are some sick bastards out there raping children there is no excuse for that none whats so ever. I feel so sad ansd so helpless and start to think what if this shit happened here the only thing to expect would be the same these poor people are recieving. I think if you arent as I am goign to do now is prepare yourselves and family in case of GOD FORBID something liek this happend here.

I can't believe this is happening in America...how did they not prepare...with all this homeland security crap and all the terroisim stuff you would think they had the resources and the response time to handle something like this...I bet terrroists are getting ideas right now...it's totally disgusting how the President turned down help from other countries...Canadian Prime Minister Martin offered to send helicopters, Bush declined and said "thank you but we can handle our own business" wtf is that?

WTF did he turn down international help...it's obviously needed. The Canadian Prime Minister is really upset cuz there are Canadians stranded down there, he said Canadian resources would get them out and back up here (that way it doesn't impact on the rest of the search and rescue) Bush said no way no how, since they are in America the Americans will get them out. Currently there are 72 registered Canadians stranded in New Orleans and our government is helpless to do anything cuz for some reason the President is putting up red tape. Why?

And what's up with calling the victims "refugees"? The majority of the victims are black and poor. But refugees? C'mon now.

I really don't mean to be rude...but this is the guy that was re-elected so that must mean the citizens support him. Either way I don't want to get too political right now. I just can't understand why not every helicopter, grey hound bus and boat is not in New Orleans saving these people...it's been days, there were warnings, it is common knowledge the city is below sea level and this was gonna happen one day so wtf is it taking so long. I can't believe this is happening in America. They've lost control of the city, police are abandoning their posts. Almost everyone has resorted to looting otherwise they will starve. I can go on...I think a lot of this could have been prevented. Bet if this happened in the Presidents home down he'd be all up in there.

Hell yea, Sonya. It's more than obvious. When Charlie hit Florida last year, Bush was there the next day. Also, take into consideration his brother Geb is the governer. And, Florida is a "red" state. Plus, immediate reaction helped his election. It all comes together.

But, I truly believe that THIS has become a racial issue now. Blacks+Poverty= Neglect.

Grant it, they're doing something, but NOT enough.

I can't watch it anymore, breaks my heart that these people are still waiting for aid that should have been there already. Now they want to shoot the looters, well damn if my child is hungry Im gonna steal to feed him or her if I have too. If I have nothing left Im gonna take what I can to sell in order to have something when I get out. For such a tragedy, I have to say that our government has done a horrible job. United States citizens are starving, dying and all we can say is "help is on the way". Im sick of it.
