Hey guys, do any of my fellow New Yorkers know of any low-cost or free health insurance other than medicaid????? I applied with Health First and it took them 8 months to find out after investigating that I was denied for a lack of paperwork they never requested...Does anyone know of anything else??? Went to the clinic last week for my migraines which are getting wors and more frequent and the Dr. gave me an Rx that was $25 FOR EACH PILL???? If I had that money I wouldn't be in the clinic, would I???
Any suggestions?????
 
I had lost my insurance from my previous employer right before I was due to have my son so I had to apply for emergency medicaid and in turn applied for health plus insurance. Why dont you try applying to health plus insurance directly rather tehn through medicaid if your below the income standards you should have no problem recieivng it always take down the name of the persons you speak too over the phone so when they tell you you need a form you dont have you can say I spoke to so and so and was never informed.
 
That's a good idea. I think I'll try their service number..I asked their rep they had in the clinic the other day about it and she said that the Health Plus is only for children..., but I remember when my daughter had it, there was Family Health Plus too..Thanks..
 
They have family health plus because both me and my son were on it I never paid co paymetns or for prescriptions its very good insurance.
 
That's what my daughter had before, was the Child Health Plus and basically I just changed cause when it came time to renew, the Health First people actually came to my house to fill out the application.
 
thats weird for me they just mailed in the renewl forms but I couldnt renew because I make above the max fto qualify and i got new health insurance here at work for me and my lil guy.
 
Well, that was my fault. I just seaparated from my ex at renewal time and I let it go for too long...
