This is an incredible story of one remarkable woman and her powerful and dynamic voice. The woman is Gioia Bruno, and the voice is where a story of miracles begins.
Gioia (pronounced "joy-a") was a member of the Arista Records pop group Exposé. In the late eighties, Exposé started releasing blockbuster albums (EXPOSURE, WHAT YOU DON'T KNOW) and numerous chart-topping singles including COME GO WITH ME, POINT OF NO RETURN, LET ME BE THE ONE, WHAT YOU DON'T KNOW, TELL ME WHY and Billboard's #1 hit single, SEASONS CHANGE.
Gioia was destined to have her own successful solo career, until the unspeakable happened. She lost her ability to use her voice due to an inoperable tumor found on her vocal chords. This is every singer's worst nightmare. Gioia had no choice but to stop touring and leave Exposé. The doctors told her she would never sing again, but she never gave up faith. Gioia knew that someone up above was watching over her and she is living proof that miracles do happen. After five years of prayer, meditation, yoga and healthy living, Gioia's tumor miraculously disappeared. She is a true survivor.
Gioia is singing again, blessed with a voice that is better and stronger than ever. She's back on stage, this time as a solo artist, touring nationally and reconnecting with her loyal fans plus new ones from around the world. Today, Gioia has a new sense of herself and a shining confidence that comes only from within. Gioia is very grateful for all she has and insists on putting her family first, then singing, writing, producing and running her own company, GIOIA, Inc. Off to a great start, Gioia's first release, FREE TO BE, became an underground club anthem that received favorable notice from Billboard Magazine as it pumped its way onto the Billboard dance charts this past year.
Believe it or not, more miracles unfold. Word got out about Gioia's return and her new upcoming single FROM THE INSIDE. One by one, up-and-comer Mike "DaMooch" Mucci, Sweden's D-Wave, Grammy® Award Winner E Smoove and legendary DJ Junior Vasquez have jumped on board to lend their master remixing talents to the track. The song is already on Junior Vasquez's "Top Ten From The DJ Booth" list. FROM THE INSIDE is about to ignite and burn up dance floors and radios everywhere this fall.
Gioia, thrilled about her return, has been working on songs for her much-anticipated full-length album. Her songs range from feel-good dance to lovable pop to deep resonating soulful ballads. Gioia will be performing live October 1, on Good Day New York on Fox 5 and will be available for interviews that week.
