What's up everyone, it's cool to see how the website has evolved. Jack G works his a@# off. My question for everyone, of the freestylers who know GIGi D'Agonstino's music, who would consider it freestyle rather than electronic dance?

Nobody i hope...I mean the song is great, and it is one of my favorite songs at the moment, but it is nowhere near being Freestyle.

Progressive freestyle ? I disagree . Nothing in this song resembles freestyle

So you think that when the producers of this song went into the studio..they said 'lets make it sound like progressive freestyle" ??? I doubt it

Even if we did think this was "kinda freestyle" ..what good does it do for freestyle the genre when nobody is calling it 'freestyle' ??

Its this "Nobody calling it Freestyle" that keep us down. There are a lot of song thats considered freestyle now that were not called freestyle when they went in the studio or when they were released😱

Ya. well this isn't one of them songs...lol

but its just my opinion. i can't see playing it in my 'freestyle' mixhows. it won't just sound right. nothing resembles freestyle in this song. its pure dance/euro/electronica/pop whatever u want....but nothing near freestyle

Believe me, i'm one of the biggest supporters of playing/calling a song freestyle when lots of others don't think it is. I'm the #1 fan of the statement "Freestyle must progress". I've played Robin Fox, Elissa, DJ X, Prophecy, Precious, etc. in the past in my freestyle shows. But I can't see playing Gigi in a freestyle show.

Hmmm I like this debate. Thats why I posted a reply.. I added a new song to my mp3 site its a remix of Alvendia's Day Dreaming which the original is fresstyle. But I flipped it and gave it a progressive sound which really has no freesyle elements exept the vocals. So what I want to know is it Freestyle still or Progressive house or I would like to call it Progressive Freesyle let me know what U think.
Thanks A=Cee

I know the exact version you're talking about. Sure its being played right next to Prophecy and Precious in Orlando. So because of that you call it freestyle ? Tell me if Bartell at Party95 is introducing those songs as "Here's the new freestyle song by Precious/Prophecy/Gigi". Nobody in the industry is even considering it freestyle. The only people who are even debating it are a few freestyle heads on this board. Even if this whole entire board thinks its freestyle, what good does it do freestyle if the industry and people outside this freestyle world we're in isn't even debating whether it is or not.

What i'm trying to say is...whether CF peeps thinks its freestyle or not, what good does it do "Freestyle". Record exec's, radio people, Billboard reporters/writers, and DJ's would laugh at us if we asked if they thought it was freestyle. They all think freestyle is trendy music from the 80's-early 90's. And UNFORTUNATELY, the future of music is in their hands. So until they take freestyle seriously again, it doesn't matter if we think these songs are freestyle or not, because nobody else does.

Hey Johnny,

DJX is the most un-Freestyle song you allowed to slide into your playlists. It's about as un-Freestyle as Gigi. So whaddaya say, put her in? J/K. Anyway, I think it's neat that a Euro song adopted this style of beat, because they're pretty rare. Compared to other Euro songs, "Fly With You" is very un-Euro, as well.

Hi all

When I first heard this song on ktu, it never passed my mind that'll be considered as "freestyle", no way, no how, hmm none. Is too far from the legend. Is a great vocals/combination arrangement w/a girl/guy and a nice beat to go w/it. I'm getting myself a copy, now if it comes in "house"...bring it on.

By the way, KTU is doing an excelent job bringing three times a week mixes at lunch hour plus sat nite, oh yes is 'the beat of NY'.
And Johnny...keep that crossover moving.

Also a shout out to JUDY TORRES.

Im out,

GiGi's song has two versions. There is the Bla Bla Bla edit, which is the version that KTU, Energy 9275, and Party 95.3 play. There is also the original version. Both have the same music and same vocals. The only difference is the beat. The Bla edit is more of a eurobeat, and the original has a break beat. I can see why people would say it was freestyle, but I don't think it is.
