HELLO EVERYONE

I WAS JUST WONDERING IF EVERYONE ON CF COULD THINK OF FREESTYLE SONGS THAT COPIED OFF OF OTHER FREESTYLE SONGS. (IN OTHER WORDS, SONGS THAT WOULDNT EVEN EXIST IF IT WERENT FOR OTHER SONGS) FOR INSTANCE TAKE WHY CANT YOU BE MINE BY WICKETT RICH, IVE ALWAYS FELT THAT THE WHOLE CONCEPT OF THE SONG CAME FROM LOUDER THAN LOVE BY TKA, THE FORMAT, ARRANGEMENT,THE MELODY, INSTUMENTATION, ETC. ALSO ANOTHER I CAN NAME OFF THE TOP OF MY HEAD, TONIGHT BY SAMMY C, WICH I FELT THE MELODY OF THE CHORUS WAS VERY HEAVILY INFLUENCED FROM DISTANT HEART BY GEORGE LAMOND.DONT GET ME WRONG I LIKED THE BOTH OF THESE SONGS BUT I WAS JUST WONDERING WHAT EVERYONE ELSE THINKS AND IF YOU GUYS CAN NAME SOME MORE.

well I wouldn't say my song "WHO's GOT YOUR LOVE" wouldn't exist without the Carlos Berrios beats, that were sampled by nelson Cruz and believe you me, I hated that, and I still do.(Florida plays the Lazaro Mendez mix thank god!) LOLOL

no nyasia, i didnt mean it like that maybe you misunderstood.. i meant songs with overall melody, format, arrangements, etc songs with the presence of unoriginality thats very obvious. songs you can hear the total melody from another song with different words like the ones ive mentioned. i dont consider whos got your love to be in that category

Heres one I always tripped out on.

Collage's "Midnight Love". Not sure if this was done intentionally or not, I'm sure it was, but the melody and sounds are the same as "Boogie Your Body" by Daisy produced by Randy Taylor-Weber & Lenny 'Linus' Douglas. They were both unaware of the Collage song. Both Daisy & Collage had ties to Robins so maybe it was something worked out by them.

LOLOL, no sweets, I know what you meant..lol I was making fun of my own track!..LOLOL

This kind of difficult to think of two songs that have the same melody arrangements. The only one I can think of is "Running" and "Walking Away"
They were done by the same group though "Information Society"
But they do sound almost the same. There are so many songs that have many similarities, but not the exact melodies. I used to have a friend back in High School, that to his ears all Freestyle songs sounded the same. He used to say "I don't know what's so special about Freestyle", "All songs have the same beat, same type of instruments, and they're all about love" I would just crank the volume up on my amp to shut him up. I guess is like every genre of music, reggaeton, Reggae sounds all the same to my ears, RnB sounds all the same.
I mean I can't tell the difference between Mario winans and Usher. But I guess I'm not into that kind of music. I don't know if this makes any sense to you guys. :listen

well while not the same song exactly, both "Together Forever" and "Temptation" have almost the same exact production - it is hard to tell which song is which until the vocals kick in!!!

Well.......I kinda think that........um........."in a dream" by Jossette, and "in a dream" by Rockell.............they sound a little similar to me, just like "stay in love" by The KromOzone Project and "stay in love" (radio edit) by Mon A Q. - but please, no objective mail because that's just MY opinion.

Also, (if I may add,) I kind of think that "a little bit of ecstacy" by Jocelyn Enriquez has a very similar beat and rhythm format to "set u free" by Planet Soul. I also noticed how much I love the album version of "love's high" by Sharyn Maceren, just as much as I like the other two. I'm still trying to figure out what it is about those songs that make me think this - but I'm sure to someday figure it out.

I liked "it feels so good" by Sonique, but then I also noticed that I also liked "I'll know how to love you" by China Dolls and one of the versions of "someone to love me" by La Rissa, and strangely enough, the same with "stay in love" by Mon A Q and "music is my life" by Planet Soul.

I've always noticed that I would always buy songs and albums like "Release me" by Angelina, "until tomorrow" by Adriana, "I can see" by S.F. Spanish Fly, and "if you want me" by Kim Del Fierro, and things like Jossette, Jocelyn Enriquez,............etc. I always like their songs a lot and think they make good music, but could never figure out why. What is it about those songs that give me the desire to want to hear each one of them?

Synthia Figueroa's "you were meant for me" was good, but I think "in a dream" (carnival radio edit) was slightly better.

"I do both Jay & Jane" was also a good song - just thought I would throw that in.

Now, I like songs like "if you don't know me by now" by Audrey (the remix) and "vission of love" by See Alice f/ simon Luka and "Killin' me" by Jenna Drey (remix) - JOHNNY BUDZ IS A VERY GOOD PRODUCER! - (I got you there for a moment.....didn't I?)

Why is it that I like "goodies" by Ciara, "freek-a-leek" by Petey Pablo, "yeah" by Usher? They always seem to like mixing those songs together on the radio......but I guess I'll NEVER KNOW WHY......but don't worry - just shake your culo and move your body to it!

Well, two that I always thought of were Jocelyn Enriquez "A Little bit of Ecstasy" and 'Lil Suzy's "Can't Get Off My Mind".

Jocelyn's goes......"Give me what I want, cause what I want is what I need, give me what I want a little be of Ecstacy, Give me what I want, cause what I want is what I need, give me what I want a little be of Ecstacy,"

Suzy's goes...."anything you want now baby, anything you need, show no shame just call my name, yes I got what you need, anyplace you want me baby take me anytime, you and me pure ecstacy, can't get you off my mind."

this is a great topic !! props !!

well in music .. sometimes the way to produce a hit .. is to kinda follow a trend, but try to do a different twist to it .. that is why u hear the ciaras, ushers, and petey pablos soundin familiar ..

example ..

planet soul introduced the acid sound, followed by feels so good by lina santiago, then came release me by angelina, then came in a dream by jossette .. its like a dominoe effect .. everyone vibes off of everyone 😉 ..

I read you thread a few times so not really sure what your trying to get at,.. but i'll give it a swing,.. the song that comes to mind for me is Crying Over You-Soave it was redone sounds very similar yet different by Ron Conti-Crying Over You still a great song though.
