BOOGIE DOWN BRONX!
Once Again Its Not What You Know Its Who You Know!!!!!! Im Tired Of Hearing About James Anthony And How Good He Is!!! Thank God Dj Lucho Came And Saved The Night And Brought Some Well Needed Energy To The Crowd!!!! The Room Was Lifeless And Boring Listening To These Pre-programed Mixes Made In Some Studio On Staten Island!! I Cant Believe Judy Torres Would Not Use A Real Dj From The Hood Who Really Knows About And Lived Freestyle And Not Someone Who Heard About It 10 Years After The Fact!!! I'd Rather Listen To Mickey Garcia. At Least He Was Playing Some Real Shit!!! No Disrespect To All You Real Freestyle Fans Out There. You Know I Love You All But Enough Is Enough. He's Wack!!!!! Ask Any Dj That Was There And They'll Tell You The Same!!!! He's Wack!!!!! Big Up To Dj Paulie From Razzous And My Partner In Crime Dj Frank Swift!! Peace,
Dj Taz!!

Im Sorry Krystal You Know I Give Everyone Love At All The Shows But I Just Cant Take It! Everyone Knows The Only Reason He's There Is Cuase Ktu Is A Major Player And Thats The Only Reason!

I remember James won the DJ Battle we had back in the day. He stuck with it
and worked real hard. Then his hard worked seemed to pay of- KTU hired him.
Why would KTU hire him if was no good?

I am surprised you wrote that. being a DJ and all, you know how hard it is and
you know that nobody hands you anything..

yea iagree with everyone else. james is very talented. maybe now ktu wastes his talent but if they give him the mula he has to conform to what they want. give him some slack.

maybee your right i just dont like the way he treated me that night he looked at me like "what are you doing in the booth with me im james anthony" maybee im just used to listening to real dj's like lucho , rob lo , charlie chase, dj cruize control, dj frank swift! we actually mix we dont use pre programmed edits! and jack i met you at the last show your very cool and i respect you but if he won the dj battle .....?

I appreciate the love DJ Taz....hey, maybe next time it'll be us on the main floor...I'll be honest, I didn't even get to hear James Anthony spin so I can't criticize, all I can say is he is very talented with his edits but for the show, I would keep it to 2 TURNTABLES and a MIXER. The way we ALL started.
Show was off the chain though.......Frank Swift - you are the MAN!!!!

Ahh I see what you mean now DJ TAZ. Maybe he was just buggin out at the moment.
Who knows, he could have been deep in his mix...Like in The Zone. You know what
I am sayin....maybe you can give him another chance!

Much Respect to All Freestyle DJ's!

Um...ok one or two things...I guess it's my duty to respond to this one in my own defense...

First of all Taz, I'm really sorry if you have a problem with the way I "looked at you" in the DJ booth, but I can safely assure you that I'm notoriously bad with names and faces. I met you once back in November when we were switching off on the DJ console. I didn't remember your name. There was a revolving door of at least 50 people in that booth that night, and when I was on the set I didn't really get to talk with anyone except Mickey and Guiseppe. I'm sorry if you felt that way. Especially when I'm working, I get in the zone and I try not to distract myself. For that I'm sorry. I'm not like that in the slightest, and anyone who knows me will tell you so. I never ignore or talk down to anyone EVER.

However, it's really not right of you to attack my work or me on a personal level. Who are you to judge me and tell me when I started "living freestyle"? You don't know anything about me in the slightest. For the record, I started buying vinyl in 1986 when I was six years old. I still own every record I ever bought with my 5$ a week allowance. My first turntables were hand me downs from my older cousin when I was nine. I made "edits" by cutting up casette tapes with scissors. I taped the Saturday Night Dance Party every weekend as a grade schooler. So don't tell me when I started "living freestyle". Ridiculous. Totally. Ridiculous.

Secondly, don't attack my work. Nothing played that night was pre-recorded. Everything was live. Songs I burn onto CD's are revisions done with multi-edits or a rearrangement of the track. No mix was pre-recorded. The crowd was responding wonderfully to everything Mickey and I played. I have gotten nothing but positive feedback from Sal and everyone else. I've been playing this music almost as long as I've been alive, I think I have a clue as to what I'm doing by now. Sal commissioned myself and Mickey to come and play freestyle. That's what we played. I'm not sure what you mean in reference to Mickey playing "real shit". We were switching off the whole time. I was always under the impression TKA was the "real shit" and Safire was the "real shit". That's the kind of stuff I was playing. Everyone was dancing and singing along from the minute the floor started to get crowded.

Lastly, in reference to my work on the radio, I do what I do on KTU because I worked hard to get there and I was in the right place at the right time. Frankie Blue and Jeff Z saw something special in my work and gave me an outlet share it with our listening audience. I'm proud of my efforts and I am thankful on a daily basis to my programming staff at KTU. Whether or not I am commissioned to work freestyle concerts because I work for KTU is beyond my control. I'm sorry if anyone has a problem with the way I do things, but I really have no choice but to defend myself in this situation. I guess you can never make everyone happy, but my work and our ratings speak for themselves, and I'm very proud of both. I will continue to do what I do the same way I've always done it and I appreciate all the kind words, comments and emails from the freestyle community during my past year and a half tenure on the radio, and for those who have known me since I was 18 years old at that DJ battle in Brooklyn years ago.

DJ Taz, once again I apologize how you felt about Saturday night, but stating negative erroneous personal comments towards someone you know nothing about on a public message board is probably not in the best interest of anyone.

See everyone at the next show, and on the radio sunday night with Judy

Peace

James

James, couldn't of handled that better myself..Big "UPS" to you lil Causi!

James Just Keep Doing What You Are Doing. I Been Listening To You For Awhile And It Seems You Are Getting Better And Better. You Are Probably The Only Dj That Actually Use The Turn Tables In A Club. I've Seen Alot Of Dj's Put Their Cd'ds On Top Of The Turn Tables Because They Don't Used Them. If A Dj Uses Prerecorded Mixes That Means He Took Time Out To Mix Them. I Know You Make Special Mixes For Your Shows, but They Are Mixed With Cd's And Records Thats Talent. James You Give Us A Mixture Of Everything. Thats What Makes Djing Exciting. I Bet If You Could Use The Reel To Reel You Would. I Have No Complaints. Just Keep Flipping Our Records,no More No More, clave Rocks, latin Love ,etc, Etc. Taz I've Seen You Spin Also But Sometimes You Have To Play Some Freesyle Songs You Haven't Heard In A While Old And New. I Know You Have Them. Djs Should Be A Close Family Not Distant Relatives. Both Of You Guys Keep Up The Good Work . Be On The Look Out For Some New Pko Product. Peace!!!!

Man, how I remember james doin' his set at the dj battle and his big ass kool aid smile after winning. I gotta give mad props for doin' what he's doin' and working at a radio station such as KTU. spinning Freestyle. I've heard his mixes and they're good. I'm sure James will be at the station for a while and later move on to other things like his own mix cd. Good Luck again bro.

peaceouttie,
big/\/\..
