I dont know if this thread has been posted before, but I ll take a shot at it, I ve always wondered if why some freestyle artist that sings w/ another one doing a duet, dont always perform together, I for example saw Chrissy I Eece perform You should know by now/ w/out Marc Anthony, and there are another handfull of artist that have duets or at least some type of background voice and are never w/ the actual artist, does anyone have any idea as to why. just curious.....
Here are some of my faves duets
Chrissy I eece w/ Marc Anthon= you should know by now
Nyasia and David=stronger together
Nyasia and Michael Anthony=take me away (love that song)
Safire and Tony Moran= on the edge of time (another fave)
Cynthia and Johnny O= dreamboy/dreamgirl
Brenda K star and George Lamond= no matter what
Tka and Tony Moran=is it love
Coro and Dose=cant let you go
I know there are more I just cant think right now, anyone know any other artist that sing in a duet,,,,,,,
 
cynthia used to sing it solo, but now johnny is back, they sing it together as often as they can.

as for many other artists you mentioned, there isnt a need. the songs were HUGE hits therefore no need for public performances.

i dont know exactly what ur asking but one of my favorite duets is by SAFIRE and TONY MORAN on her new album. it's called somethings never change. tony moran is off the hook!!!! 😉
 
Kenny thats exactly why i think in my opnion it would be cool to have some of these artist perform together, just like Brandy and Monica, Mariah and Boys to Men, and other artist that dont sing freestyle, but do perform together doing duets on occasion, and Martini the question that I am asking is why dont freestyle artist that perform duets, dont perform together during freestyle events........
 
when given the chance, they perform. again, if the song was a commercial hit. I have seen many acts in one place BUT they dont perform the duets.
 
Im very curious to know why Collage never gets credit for his part on "Cant We Try". Whenever the song is played they just say Rockell...I dont get it!!!

im gonna take a jab at this......its just a guess! maybe since COLLAGE had no hits at the time and ROCKELL'S name was already huge her name and current releases just overshadowed his.

Yeah I was going to say for duets Denine and Collage, and at the Boca show Sat. night it was Lil Suzy and Adam Marano! They sounded great together!

Denine you were missed though! Where were you?? I have more duets to post, I'll be back!🙂

Well there's one duet I like, aside from the obvious "Dreamboy/Dreamgirl" and "Can't We Try" (which I think they said was Collage #1, NOT Marano, but who remembers)- but it's not exactly a duet and it's not exactly freestyle . Anyone want to venture a guess?

like i said "at that time". Collage's last hit was in 94 and "cant we try" was realeased in 98.
 
Do background vocals count? If so, I'd pick "Open Your Eyes" by Samuel with Safire on backgrounds and "You'll Never Find Another Love" by & More, also with Safire on the backgrounds.
 
That song by Nyasia and Michael Anthony everytime I hear it, just takes me away just like the song says, I ve never heard a song w/ such passion by two people, it puts me on a zone......and about Safire and Sam Savon and & more those are also two that are off the hook, even though they are background vocals, to me that is a duet regardless.....
 
hey ER the FS child,

do you know that was only time George Anthony and I ever performed that song!..lol he's a great singer and freind too. he's doing his Salsa thing now under the name Jorge Luis.

Naya, no problem, that song was the song that made me and my girlfriend get back together again, so it does have very special memories.....although years later we are now broken up, but thats life...........it would be phat to see the both of you's performed that song......and my bad is not Michaeal Anthony, is George Anthony...........
