Ok,
Why is it, that Safire's 1988 debut album "Sa-Fire", has her 1987 hit/single "Let Me Be The One", but not 1986's "Don't Break My Heart"?

Why is it that Corina's 1991 debut album, (although in the 90's) did not have the songs "Out Of Control" & "Give Me Back My Heart" among others? Even though "Give Me Back My Heart" appeared on the B-side of "Whispers".

Yet, Giggles 1991/92 debut album still carried 1987's "Love Letter"???
(by the way, if they put "Love Letter', they should have also put "Hot Spot").

Why is it that Expose's 1987 debut album "Exposure", still carried the 1984/85 singles "Point Of No Return" & "Exposed To Love"??

Or why Sequal's 1988 debut album, (again, 1988), carried their song "It's Not Too Late" that was released 4 years before in 1984?

Sandee's debut album, does not have "You're The One". Why?

& Why do Laura Enea's 2 albums each have some of the same songs on them??

And what really urks me, is when they do various "Greatest Hits" on India &/or Brenda K. Starr, usually with most of their Latin/Salsa stuff, & like 1 or 2 of their English songs, & you never see sh*t like "Dancing on The Fire", or "Pickin' Up Pieces", etc. If they're gonna do it, ...do it RIGHT!

I know it sounds like i'm whining, lol, but does anyone have any answers??

Hiya CB.....I don't know 100%, but this is what I assume. I could be wrong.

Corina's debut album was released jointly with Cutting/Atlantic. However, her first three songs were strictly Cutting. Atlantic probably didn't want to pay to have the previous three songs on the cd.

"Love Letter" crossed over to Pop radio. "Hot Spot" was a club jam, but not as successful, so when the Giggles cd was released, to have that "hit" to it, they most likely paid for "Love Letter", but not "Hot Spot".

Exposè's cross over happened by surprise. If you look at the "Come Go With Me" video, you can tell it was "rushed" out, because of the sudden success of the single. As a result, I'm sure the cd was rush released with the original versions of "Point" and "Exposed", with the vocals of original members of Alè, Sandeè, and Laurie. The record company, however, knew "Point" could be a hit, and it was re-released with Ann, Jeanette, and Gioia. Later versions of the cd have the remade version on it, not the original.

Sandeè's "You're The One" was released on Atlantic records. "Notice Me", she had moved to Fever Records. Fever and RAL released her cd, "Only Time Will Tell", but probably didn't want to buy the rights for "You're The One" from Atlantic, and they left it off.

Thanx! - lol!

Another thing, ...why the Hell does "That Boy Of Mine" re-appear on The Cover Girls 2nd album "We Can't Go Wrong", when it already appeared on the first album "Show Me"?
If used for filler, ...that was a crummy choice. They should have gone with "One Night Affair" , "Better Late Than Never" or even a remix of one of the 2nd album tracks. ("My Heart Skips A Beat", etc).

Wow I remember I asked this similar question years ago in this forum when I was disappointed that that song was not on the CD. 🙂

It was a long time ago so I forgot the response that I was given.

No,
when getting the Expose' "Exposure" CD, Vinyl Album, or Cassette, ...it's a gamble like a craker jack box, ..u neva know what ur gonna get. All albums are printed with the same artwork, & timing of the "Original" version of "Point", running at 5:20. The first pressing of the albums carry the original version. And later albums carry the 2nd edited version with Jeanette's vocals. But you can only tell what ur gonna get by listening to it if possible, (like a used store, etc).

There is also a very rare and scarce version of "Come Go With Me" with different vocal arrangements & it sounds very "demo-ish". If you get ur hands on an album that has both, make sure u keep it!! 🙂
(Keep in mind that any & all versions available of "Exposed To Love" were never re-recorded, therefore , being the only song featuring the original 3 members, aside from the original "Point", & the original members also did most of the background vocals throughout the album). 🙂

I forgot to add, there are THREE different versions of "Point Of No Return" that appear on the albums.

1. The original 1984/85 version, with original members, clocking in at 5:20. (all albums have this timing printed regardless).

2. A slightly different, edited version, of the original version above. At 3:53.

3. And last but not least, the more popular re-recorded version with Jeanette that appears on the video & most comps, clocking in at: 3:28.

Which version will you get?? I guess you won't know until u hear it. 🙂

Chuck Is Right, Mercury Didn't Want Pay Cutting For Both Sa-fire Tracks, Only One And Also The Same For Fever With Atlantic Records, Also Sandee Had Another Song That Did Not Appear On That Album That Came Out On Another Label I Beleive Called Eastwest Records, I May Be Worng On The Label, As Far Giggles It Was Also The Same They Felt Love Letter's Was A Big Record And Cutting Owned It, That Why Pay Atlantic As Well For Hot Spot..

I think you have the label name right. It was EastWest records, and it was "Always Beside Me" by Sandeè.

ok just checked my lp + cd.
lp is the orig but is time stated as 6:15 but clocks in at 6:08.
cd is 3:29.

fao companyb, so the odd lp w/ come go with me version has which point of no return version on it???

on the hunt now.

You are correct about the timing of the original "Point" being 6:08, that is what I have too. (sorry for the mix up).

To date, I have only heard the odd "Come Go With Me" on the album that has the edited version of the original "Point". But there could be variations.
Wierd stuff. lol.

its the same thing as duran duran's rio lp from 1982. there are 3 versions.
1) orig. 2) remixed versions with hungry like the wolf 4:02 3) remixed versions with hungry like the wolf 5:14.

i have been searching for the 2nd pressing for years and years.
