On Friday; Jayson Williams was aquitted on The Agravated Assult and Manslaughter charges after the shooting death of his Limo Driver in his NJ Mansion two years ago. Those charges would have put Williams in Jail for 50 years. He was only found guilty on minor charges like Tampering with Evidence and lying to 911. Those could only carry 5-13 years with probation.

Do you think the right decision was made or is this another celeb getting off?

Now Kobe, is a different case! That chick knows she wasn't raped and is truly "waiting for a lawsuit to happen" type.
 
I'm glad the Jayson Williams trial is over. The mess went on for almost 3 years.

The Kobe, Scott Peterson and Jacko cases are the big ones.LOL
 
by special request stevie b's "money talks" and the last time i checked i mean i never took the bar or anything but tampering with evidence and lying to investigators is serious not minor especially in a case where someone has died ..but thats the way its been reported...martha stewart meanwhile ask her if lying in an investigation is minor i dont get it
 
Im not sure I agree w/ that verdict.. The point is.. when do celebrities have to take responsbility for their actions?? I mean.. he was drunk.. he took out a Rifle from his cabinet.. he pointed it at the guy, he killed him! If I was to do that, Im sure I'd be in jail serving some KIND of sentence..Why is it they're excused for their actions becuz he was intoxicated? If u r driving drunk.. and kill someone.. dont u get arrested? Dont u get "involunatary manslaughter" charges? Why is HE any different!!!
 
for anyone being a jayson wiliams fan dont take this the wrong way but tony montana in scaface said it right "capitolism means get !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!ed!!" and justice for all my ass this case shows and i saw it coming you got money you can walk away from anything if jayson had been a bus driver from the bronx ..foregeddaboutit ..and justice for all no justice for the limo driver and his family just dead after a drinking binge because he was just a limo driver the system said jayson behave now youve been bad to the family of the victim get !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!ed!!
 
Actually the limo drivers family settled a civil case worth millions. Not that it justifies things cuz it doesn't but here's a story about someone that didn't have money...

He and his girlfriend were in their apartment. He took his shotgun out to clean it. They were drunk. Why he decided to do that at that time I have no clue. The gun went off. She got killed. He threw the gun in the canal behind his house. It was found when he told the cops where it was. He spent 4 months in jail waiting for his trial. They were going after a manslaughter charge. After it was all said and done...he was found innocent.

Was it justice? To this day I don't know. But again...he had no money. His uncle paid for a good lawyer but not the caliber that these celebrities can afford.

'drink responsibly" every commercial on tv has that on the end "we urge you to drink responsibly" now evena person whos had a few should still have the common sense to think "dam im fuked right now ishouldnt try to drive (sufolk county where i live is actualy one of the highest dwi convictions in america!) i shouldnt even play with a gun"...my aunt was killed in 1986 driving to school to pick up my cousin ..a woman on a binge was going to the liqour store to get a refill she was depressed and at a stop sign my aunt met this woman that woman had two convictions for DWI but its all good she ended a beautiful persons life..but it wasnt her it was "the alcohol" she only did 6 months in jail..imy aunt got life or rather no life....if one canot be convicted of a crime or do real time for iresponsibility under the influence what is that saying? go out get bent dont worry about it have a good time if you actually kill someone its just alcohol well be understanding in court youll be okay of course those that were in the way of you gettin high will be dead but its all good!
 
honestly thats just off on a personal side note what the issue here is ....the difference between celebirty case vs the average ... and no one here or anywhere can argue that a celebrity is treated in the same manner as the average person...i just want an amen to that ... if it what it is ..then its what is .. let the court and the media try to bullshit it im askin you all to agree or disagree with what i feel....
 
Tae, I totally agree. He got off cause he is a celebrity. I like Jason Williams. I think it is a tragedy that he screwed his life up by getting drunk, and acting like an ahole. More importantly, it is a bigger tragedy for the family of the man he killed. And now, they have recieved no justice. They might have made money on a civil case, but it doesnt bring their loved one back. I dont believe he intentially killed this man, but his careless actions caused someone to lose their life. I dont have a great understanding of how the law works, but doesnt that at least call for a charge of involuntary manslaughter? L
On a personal note, Taezee, I am so very sorry that you lost your aunt to such a senseless act.

When I posted what I did...I wasn't saying that all you need to get off on something like this is money. Manslaughter is very hard to prove as intentional. That's my understanding from the facts that I've come across just by doing work in a lawyer's office. His celebrity status most definetely had something to do with the outcome of this case, but had he been the average Joe...the outcome could have very well been the same.
