If you guys have not tuned to STAR 93.7 Lately, you are missing what their new PD (Programming Director) is doing to its rotation. It has added Freestyle to its rotation (something that was missing on Boston's airwaves for a long time)

The intention of this message is to SUPPORT the efforts of the new Star 93.7 FM in bringing Freestyle music back to Bean town. If the support is there, they might consider an "All Freestyle Music Show" like KTU's Freestyle Free For All.

Come on Boston, you wanted a station that plays Freestyle. Well, you got that now!!! 🙂

Let me explain this with a little more detail. What STAR 93.7 WQSX FM(The Rhythm Of Boston) has been doing for the past 5 or 6 weeks is an overhaul of the station format. Even though is a CHR/Dance station, it was not focusing on the latest trends of Dance music, and Freestyle tracks were NOT on their playlists. Jerry McKenna (STAR's new Programming Director) has decided to make the station more enjoyable, and he had the excellent idea to add Freestyle tracks (most of them prior to 1993) to STAR's playlist. Jerry seemed to realize that Freestyle is part of the Dance Music Industry. Great point on his favor.

Let's support Jerry McKenna's efforts on bringing Bean Town a Dance Station that is worth listening to

To Carlitos Way

Hey Bro, what's up? Star is not only playing Freestyle during the Noon Workout. They had extended it to all its daily programming. tune to the morning show, or during the night hours (which the Dance music tracks get played more heavily).

Damn I wonder if I can EVEN get it in Sprfld......I'm lucky if Hartford's 95.7 plays it- all I've heard is Rockelle's "IN A DREAM"
once in a blue........

I always hear freestyle on that station like Lil Suzy, Debbie Deb, Cover Girls, Expose... I LOVE it...

Lovin' it...

I love listening to 93.7 around 12 pm they always play freestyle, and I think its gonna make a big difference out here in Mass...

Star 93.7

Shadowman is right with Star playing more Dance/Freestyle tracks and I'm glad to hear Jerry is the new PD.

For those that don't know this, in part some credit has to go to Mike McGowen who is now at Star as well. Mike was instrumental in playing more dance orientated music in the beginning at Kiss FM in Hartford and I know I am glad to hear he is now in Boston! 😛

Reguarding the 93.7 FM frequency in the western part of MA

Liz:

I am afraid that the only way peeps in the Western Part of Massachusetts may ever hear Star 93.7 is that for some reason WZMX aka Hot 93.7 (yeah, that Hip Hop Station that Plays the same 18 Jams in A Row 37 1/2 times a day) goes off air for transmitter maintenance or that the station goes off the air for good.

It will take a better than good FM antenna to DX Star 93.7. I have been able to get KTU up here a couple of times when WCCH 103.5FM (HCC's radio station) goes off the air in the summer and winter break and sometimes after 11pm Through DXing.

What we need in our market is a CHR/Dance station, which is unlike to happen because the major radio broadcasting companies (i.e Clear Channel, Infinity, Lappan, Emmis, Entercom, etc.) claim the Hartford/Spingfield radio markets do not a large enough Dance Music scene in order to offer a CHR/Dance station in our dials. I say it's all BULL$#¡+! We had 96-TIC FM playing a heavy amount of Dance music (while keeping ratings up and being on the top 5 radio stations in both markets) before Infinity took over the station in 1995 and made it a ridiculous Adult Contemporary station.

Just so u know:

I posted 2x cuz my pc is stupid slowwwwwwwwww and it took a while for it to show- so I thought it didn't go thru'
