For My Mom

FOR MY MOM

Remember the pictures
you have of me as a little girl,
leaning over an overly frosted cake
glowing with birthday candles?

Think back now,
and remember most of all
what you saw in that moment
as i looked out over that cake...

the smiling faces
of our family and friends
huddled behind the camera,
waving,trying to stay out of the picture,
and anxiouslY waiting for me to make my wish,
to celebrate with me,
to share my day...

And although my childhood
has long since passed,
i know my birthday is still
a very important day to you...


So remember,my Mother,
that even when i dont see you
on the other side of my cake,
you will always be in the picture,
sharing my day,
loving me with all your heart,
and hoping right along with me
that my birthday wishes
all come true.



This is for my mother who passed away january 2, 2002
we share the same birthday august 12th.
i wrote this on our birthday while sitting at her grave side.
i love you mommy with all my heart and i will make sure you will never be forgotten.

thank you everyone so much, my mom has been there for me no matter what and now that she is gone its really hard to go on.my mom was the 1 to introduce me to freestyle. she wasnt ur typical mom she was the 1 in the car blastin the radio, have serious girl talk with all us girls.goin shoppin and just chillin.
