Okay...here is one for the mobile DJ's in the Clubfreestyle Forum:

Who has the lightest or even fewest pieces of equipment to bring to an event, gig, party, or show? Keep in mind if you have processors, amps in a road case that road case counts as one item. And if you keep your turntables and mixer in a "coffin" that counts as one item. Lets keep this tally on dealing with the sound equipment, no lighting trusses, lighting effects, or even smoke machines. We'll do one of those later.

Here is mine:

1 mixer case [holds mixer, compressor and dual deck cd player]
1 amp case [holds amplifier and signal processor]
2 speakers
1 utility box [speaker cables, power cables, audio cables, tools, cd albums, and headphones]

This equals one trip with a four wheel dolley (assuming no stairs).

Laters...

I Still DJ party's with records, So my equipment isn't light.
It is few though.

1 Coffin - (2 turntable and a mixer)
1 Rack - (Amp, tape deck, CD, power conditioner, compressor
Gate/ Limiter, and storage for cables and other
accesories)
2 Speakers
2 Record Cases - (Odyssey 200lp with compartments
for storage)

All large equipment is on wheels. I just kick myself every time I have a gig that has a few flights of steps, I ask myself why didn't I use CD's.

1 Coffin (hand made 😉)
2 CDJ 100 S
2 Tech 1200'z (each in their own flight case)
1 Numark CM-100
2 15' Yamaha Speakers
1 Amp

LOL...ok I know it's not a few but I like to show off a bit everythin' has treated me fine....so it's all good

Latahz,
Z

Here's mine:

1 rack (mixer, dual CD player & controller)
2 speakers (JBL self amplified 😎 )
2 tripods (4 tha speakers)
2 CD cases (Odyssey)

Cause the speakers R self amp'd....no need 4 heavy amp rack!!
Sound iz pretty tight 4 a room that holds 300 people!!

I have the best rig! It's called my Husband! He has to carry everything I just carry my gig bag which holds 75 12's and a book of discs! No problem nice & light. But don't feel bad for Vince. Igot him a rock & roller cart and an apprentice. He learns how to do weddings from me and how to load a rig from Vince. Lmao!:mdance

damn.... i feel all left out, i don't like coffins.. but here's mine
1 vestax pmc-07 mixer (have you deen the new one woth 2g's?not the isp one the other one with a digital fader)
2 technics 1200's mk3d's in flight cases
2 american dj pro-scratch cd players
1 rack with the power distributor, compressor, amp
3 200 cd books
10 crates of vinyl!
2 yamaha se15s
1 dj bag for the mixer and wires, connections, and power strips
1 bottle of motrin 800 cuz i'll need it to kill the pain!

I asked my guys how heavy my gear is they said it wasn't too bad as long as I'm not doing a vinyl set. vinyl add the 2 1200's and instead I'll bring the Vestax pmc 46 seperate flight cases for each.
Reg. CD Set is
2 Pioneer 700 CD decks 1 Pioneer DJM500 Mixer all in a flight case.
1 10 space amp rack with a compressor, a quadra verb, power distributor, and a crest CA6, 2 3way Yorkville Speakers. And 2 Books of CD's. The lighting they said was another story.😡

Dude,

If your going that small how big are the shows your doing? I saw one guy use two walkmans and a radio shack mixer on his shows. We have custom cases, prewired for all connections, wheels on everything, we max out the racks fitting in as much as possible but we always have alot of gear on our shows. Always run two or three wireless, one wired (in case) and a crap load of essentials. We stopped trying to go small a long time ago. Havign extra gear, cable, fuses and etc. can save your butt and make the difference between getting through a show and rockin the house!!!! We just charge alot more and always put rodies on the shows. Makes a difference.

Peace.
