I find nothing funny with someone perfering one artist music or stating that there songs are better there are a lot of great vocalist some people do not even give credit too many that vocally are a lot more talented then Stevie B. It seems to me people are doing just that basing it on the artist they like not on overall achievement or talent. As I said no one is knocking Stevie he has a lot of great songs but there is nothing funny with someone perferring another artist. I am one to always state nothing but the truth and keep it real on this site. Lets not try and make this an artist against artist shit with all the name throwing gooing on up in here and take it back to the original question cause I have yet to see anyone answer it holllllaaaa.

Who's Stevie B.?????

LOL!!!!!!! I'm sorry, I just had to do that!

I'm not about to enter the debate of who is King or Queen of Freestyle. Too many possible answers.

As for artists supporting freestyle or recording other types of music, I think peeps need to realize that if artists are going to make money, (and put food in the mouths of their families) they have to make an album that is going to sell. A 100% freestyle album is not going to do that. There is not the exposure or the demand for it.

Let's use Nya as an example. I'd love to hear that Nyasia is gonna release a new album in 2003, that will be 10 songs long, 2 Ballads, 3 trance songs, 3 freestyle songs, and 2 house songs.

As for supporting freestyle, there are different ways to do that.

Not all peeps can afford the costs of a show. When I come in from Jersey, by the time I pay for gas, tolls, parking (and by the way, parking in N.Y. is a b*tch!!! In Jersey, I can park in places for free, or a quarter per hour. If the mayor of N.Y. wants people to support his city to help the economy, he better take some steps to make it easier for peeps to get there and park there! Now back to my original point.) admission to the show, (I don't use guest lists or reduced passes, I pay full price, to support the club hosting the show.) coat check, drinks, and whatever else, and I could spend tons of money that to be honest, I can't afford.

Peeps could do things like actually buy freestyle that is released instead of burning it to cd.

Peeps could create a freestyle website or radio station on the internet! 😉 Actually, that's where some of my money goes, between my site and station, I spend $60.00 a month getting freestyle out there!

Thank you Chuck babie finally someone else with an answer to the posted question. keep doing your thing sweetie every bit helps in way or another 😉

LOL, Queenly I think you and I would get along fine, because your just as funny as I am!.LOL "Look into my eyes", "without you" "Bad of the Heart" "Distant Heart" were a million times better than anything Stevie B ever came up with girl!..LOL oh shit you got me rollin ova here!..LMAO! anyway I am out of this thread because Stevie B got all the attention he is ever gonna get from me..LOL now if it was a George thread then that's a stimulating thread.lololol

OH shit I can't stop laughing though...LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

LMAO Naya! 😉

Chuck! We love your station! Thank you for providing us with the pleasure of listening to it!

Queenly, why don't we agree to disagree?, I don't like Stevie B's music all that much, and you do, that's all good girl.. my opinion will never change and neither will yours. so let's not bore anyone else with our opinions of who is the best. to you it's Stevie to me It's without a doubt in the words of "lyzelle" "HANDS DOWN" George Lamond. Now as far as trying to help the music, this is the exact reason why the music will never be helped. because we too busy trying to make a point on some ridiculous personal opinion, that we sleepin on what is going on outside in the music industry. We here how alot of these raps and hip hop has some latino influence in it. like Tupac"made Niggaz" that has the Santana feel to it or the ones with spanish guitars in it, and the one with india singing in the back ground, or the one with Jerry riveras sample.. you know why? because we too busy "debating" bullshit, when we should be out there doing something about it!!!!!.. but I don't see that happening, all the heavy hitters are gone from the game anyway.

if freestyle is ever going to prosper or become distinguished,to the main audience,it needs to change.i think k7 had a great idea,by stating something about singing to hip hop beats with a freestyle
concept.i think he said something to that extent, but im not really too sure of the exact words he said.but hopefully he might remember what im referring too.one more thing everybody in here, should show some respect too k7,im refering to that comment queenly made, because k7 is just as talented as g lamond and stevie b.i think hes a much better peformer than stevie b. every body in here should recognize all the hard work hes put out for freestyle music.he has louder than love, maria, give youre love to me,you are the one is it love.dont be afraid the remix.tears may fall the remix.hes been very successful with swing batta swing, but he hasnt been lately.but hell be back with tkg.i believe k7 will make it with tkg in 2003.good luck to k7 and g lamond but im not really feeling stevie b no more.i liked his music when he first started out,but not anymore.i still wish stevie b alot of success.

Your right Nyasia! but to me their both(stevie, george) the best lets leave it at that, im also out of this thread time for some new one's. See ya their Naya.LOLLOL

Maybe some more interesting, diverse song writing would help. Freestyle gets it for beats. No doubt about that. But if your looking for some deep lyrics or something to get you thinking, freestyle doesn't offer much. There have been some really good songs...

Eyes Of A Stranger - She kind of tells a story. The first sentence alone sets up the visuals. The song's almost manic if you take a good listen to what she's saying. The last person she thought she could trust just turned on her so now she's not gonna trust anyone. The world is gonna be full of strangers for her. She sings the chorus and she's tough, like it's ok, she don't need anybody, don't worry about it. But then on the verses she talks about how empty and insecure she feels inside and the song takes a whole different turn. She goes from being tough and strong to being depressed and vulnerable. That back and forth makes it real. She doesn't really give mention to any specific type of relationship therefore it could be about anyone and more people can relate to it. That was good writing and Safire had a good voice for it. She almost captured that same tortured sadness she had on "Thinking Of You". She rocked it!

Like A Star - A nice tribute to someone special. Because of Cynthia's personal meaning for it, I always think of mom when I hear that song.

Time Passes By pt. I & II - True, It's a love song. But the first part she talks about being a player. Which is different to hear a woman sing about. But she's seen what's out there and now she wants to come back. But it's too late. They step it up with the remix, pt. II, which flips the whole script and now she's the one on the other side. Feeling played! Her sincerity is kinda questionable on pt. I. She says im sorry, I just wanted to see what else was out there but I've done it and now I'm ready to come back to you. On pt. II, she feels what it's like to get played and THEN she becomes more sincere.

Maybe more artists try songs like these, people would pay more attention to the music. Take it more seriously.

ummmm...even i have to disagree with u!

are u ever wrong!!!! yes it is true freestyle is most recognized by the beatzzz...but freestyle is also a true rep for deep meaningful lyrics. I cant say that i listen to every word an artist will sing...or even appreciate it (i like dem beats nd i like dem loud!lol), but u have respect the fact that freestyle is MADE of true, deep, heart filled emotions! 'I' even think that freestyle's lyrics are deeper than that of rb (mind u that i barely listen to any kind of lyrics...)

Vixen, I see what your trying to say but you start your post off by saying that freestyle is filled with deep lyrics, but you end it by saying you don't really listen to lyrics anyway.

Are you really trying to say that freestyle is recognized for it's incredibly deep lyrics? Heartfelt lyrics, maybe, but the "love & heartbreak" topics are madd cliche. That's a part of life, but that's not all life is. Good music reflects life. There are many other emotions that we experience as people every single day. Other genres of music do it. Sometimes a song can be recognized solely on it's lyrical content. This might get some more attention. I gave props to some solid artists who have been doing an exceptional job of keeping their music interesting. Tony Moran, Carlos Berrios, these two guys definitely leave their mark and signature on all their tracks. If an album is full of love songs, it gets boring because in one aspect, all the songs are the same. You can switch the beat, you can switch the lyrics but your still singing about the same thing.

I'll give up props to someone anytime I can! I think you're right, there are some good examples of creative freestyle. But they are few and finite.

I hold "Thinking About You" as my favorite freestyle album of all time. Why? Because that album was great not only because it was Cynthia's return. It had solid content! Her vocal improvements were evident. Her delivery was flawless on every track. She sang about everything from love, to regret, betrayel, abandonment, appreciation for someone who guided her, desire, letting go of something that's not good for you (no matter how hard), or just partying & buggin' out with friends on the weekend. The tracks were different. Some carried the same topic but the tracks were delivered in a totally different aspect than the previous one. That's why fans think they "know" the artist, because these albums are a look into their lives. If every song is the same, it's just not interesting.

LMAO I just wanted to put my 2cents in lol I have to disagree that Stevie B is the Freestyle king... My Opinion ofcourse is that George Lamond is... Maybe Stevie can be the king for places like Miami and George can be the kind for sayyyy places like NY lol anyhow... I think that list at the top is not totally correct, I wonder, Where are you from (state that is) Maybe you don't know that artist like Safire, Nyasia, Judy, TKA, Coro, George, etc.. are constantly performing and working their asses off to keep the fans happy....
I'm well aware as is everyone else that TKA WAS on the WB reppin... so how is that NOT representing 🙂 Disclaimer; No offense to anyone..lol

jusss cuz i BARELY listen to all the lyrix that doesnt mean i dont at all or know the deeper meaning behind it. as a writer...im pretty sure about metaphors & irony that u may not pay attention to. 😉

To u all songs sound the same - well i dont know if uve noticed but, in love most peeps go through quite similar if not the same experiences - thats why when they're put on paper - they're pretty much the same! :stoned

u say that good music reflects life, how can u not place LOVE in LIFE? isnt that most of it?

wut do u really wanna hear on freestyle track? if not all the same uve heard from before....why dont u come up with an Idea and maybe even brainstorm it out for us....cuz not many peeps understand wut u want??? :confused

Thats a good one Destiny11, they can be the kings of their own states LOL, but i would have to say that Stevie B gets the award for king of freestyle do to all his accomplishments, just my opinion.
