Barely any freestyle plays here.
I LOVE FREESTYLE, I just had to get that out of the way because most of you will probably get mad at me after this.

...Why do some of you people hate Pop so much. I mean yes freestyle is better, but is Pop freestyle's arch enemy or something? (read that over and make sure it made sense) I mean jeez, come on, chill out with britney spears and nsync. Im not sayng i like them but stop talking about them so much. Is this a freestyle site or a Pop bashing site. I have been a freestyle fan literally all my life, since i can remember. But have an open mind, you can like some other kind of music, freestyle wont get mad at you. BUT DONT GET ME WRONGE, I LOVE freestyle, freestyle is MUCH MUCH better then pop or any other type of music. I just wanted to say to stop hating on Pop singers so much. Thank You
 
I like everything. I prefer freestyle to pop music but Not for nothing, the majority of pop songs have far better production than the new freestyle songs...of course with the exception of a couple of songs.
 
I have nothing against pop music. Just that some of it seems fake, and too much about it's image like Britney, Nsuck. Freestyle artist are more about the music. I know there have been some bad freestyle records outhere, but there's some good pop records out there.

But,Do I Support It? Not Really.

to Me It's Cheasy,And All Made Up.
In The Sense," It's Not Real Music " In More Ways Than 1.
These Kids And people Are Put Together And Are Puppets Under The Labels And So Forth...They Are Taught How To Dance,How To Sing Etc Etc Etc.

A Real Artist Starts From Scratch And Teaches Themself Then Later On Picks Up Pointers Here And There.
They Dont Even Write Thier Own Music.(Exceptions Of A Few Who Now Do it Only Because They Got Bored)

Bottom Line...You Have 5 Guys Singing 1 Song. Come On Now.

Although I've loved freestyle since I was 13, and more so when I began to get to know some of the artists, as I was growing up POP seemed to be evolving, with such artists as Madonna, Michael Jackson, Prince, Janet, Paula Abdul, etc, you couldn't help but catch yourself singing: Borderline, Billy Jean, Little Red Corvette, etc...right? Of course those are classics, but their still POP!
I know for a fact that some of our fave freestyle artists GREW UP LOVING some of these POP artist! K7 Loves PRINCE music! GEORGE LAMOND Loves Michael Jackson music!

Is there anything wrong with that? I don't think so.
If any freestyle artist had the chance to make JUST 1 POP SONG with TOMMY MOTTOLA behind the whole thing, don't think for a second they would pass it by! Look at Marc Anthony, he loves his freestyle and salsa but look at the BEAUTIFUL ESTATE AND BOAT he was ABLE to purchase after he released his ENGLISH album?

Some artist listen to completely different music than what they actually record and sing, but they do it because they know its the key to success and once they've got through that door, their the ones bringing in the money, then they can do the music they were born to sing!

Just because you Love Freestyle or you sing Freestyle doesn't mean your not into POP or R&B or POP OR SALSA, ETC. SOME Freestyle acts actually OPEN UP for POP AND R&B ARTISTS...then they become really good friends! You'd be surprised how many Freestyle artists have been spotted at a BACKSTREAT BOYS SHOW!
 
Don't knock pop...i don't know y most of u do hate on it...as soon as one of those pop groups that u hate so much comes out with a freestyle friendly remix..most of u jump all over it and sweat the sh*t out of it...AND IT'S SEEMS ODD TO ME ESPECIALLY WHEN none OF THEM HAD ANY FREESTYLE FLAVOR BESIDES A WORKED PLANET BEAT.....but hey..whatever keeps this board going and conversation hot is cool with me.....as far as i am concerned...Pop is great..I love it..and it makes BIG$$$ and it's excepted all over the world and like freestyle---has to do with emotional situations....freestyle or pop?? i love pop too. i grew up on top 40 radio and watching HOT TRAXX..lol. i have nothing against pop. some of the best songs ever made and written were pop songs. i just can't stand the fact that it seems that all pop these days sounds exactly the same. everyone uses the same damn producers(max martin for example) and there's no variety. it seems that anyone and their mother can now become a pop singer...most without any real talent except looking good. how about writing a song for once...a good one...with an actual melody.
that new britney song she co wrote "not a girl..." just shows us what's going on in her head...nothing.
i'll listen to and love pop...but u gotta give me something to work with...c'mon.
 
Its all the same in all the newsgroups. so, please dont alienate us like that. i go to another newsgroup for a rap group and actually, they think the same way. they hate all this "boy/girl band" hype that is going on. they cant get thier own favorite group on TRL or the radio because its fluttered with the cheesy groups. so, were not the only ones doing it. its all over and its a fact that this phase has to come to an end!!
 
Hey man i like pop well i grew up with pop before freestyle. Because freestyles really underground, everyone loves music like Steive B - Because I Love You, everyone knows that song but know one who doesnt follow freestyle music doesnt know who stevie b is. The reason, freestyle remains underground, its a shame that music like pop has the domanating lead on the music industry right now. Lets face it I would rather freestyle be underground it makes a song that comes out so much better. You can never play out a good freestyle song, but pop you can allways play out a pop song. I dont like britney spears but, I still like some pop music. I remember a few years ago when there wasnt any TRL on MTV and all there was, was rap videos. Well now its pop, freestyle is more underground so you cant compare it. One day freestyle will emerge as the number one thing it just has to take some time and more people to like it. Hopefully freestyle doesnt get so croputed as pop has when it goes public.

i like all kinds of music.
i dont really lable what i like or what i dont like. i like songs, not the lables ppl but on the songs or singers. i love my backstreet boys (please dont bash them) for the good songs they put out but more so for the cool guys they turned out to be when i've hung out with them.

i like britney songs i like christina aguilera songs, i love U2 and will till the day i die! i like all kinds of stuff, collective soul, green day, linkin park, Dave Matthews Band (if u dont know them, my LORD go discover DMB!!), creed, smashing pumpkins, cranberries, mana and many many others right along side my TKA, George Lamond, Cynthia, Cover Girls, Noel, Miguel Reyes and Judy Torres. if i like the song i like it. hell i like some country songs...again its the song itself, that i make a connection with.

pop has been around forever and will be, u probably sang a pop song as ur 8th grade graduation song just like i did.

if u have negative feelings twards a young pop singer or group (for whatever reason, although it would be interesting to explore THAT in it self!) dont bash the whole pop genre or the group. cuz really u probably haven't sat down and really listened to their body of work as a whole enough to say 'wow that really sucks!'
