As a kid, i used to HATE this song. lol!

But as I got older, it grew on me, & now today its one of my fav Expose' songs of all time. I prefer the original long version of 6:23, rather than da 3-minute one we see everywhere. The original long version carries extra beats & edits. "Little" Louie Vega was one of the first to play the demo in the circuit.

Overall, I apprciate the songs "classic" 1985 oldskool status.

Also, the "Dub Version" available only on the B-side of the vinyl single, makes for a good breakdancing mix.

I also like da fact that it has da same beat from a song by Afrika Bambataa on the "Beat
Street" soundtrack.

This song was performed by the Original 3 sexy members: Ale', Laurie, & Sandee'. (1984-'86)
(none appeared on the albums cover)

What are u guyz thoughts on "Exposed To Love"?

Exposed to Love

Hmmm, Never heard that version.
Only familiar with the version from EXPOSURE (The album)

Its grown on me but it's not one of my fave Expose songs...the lyrics are a little too repetitive. Its a decent song though.

So most of u guys felt the same way I did at one time - lol.

Expose' does have better songs, im just saying I have come to actually love it now & appreciate it's "classicness", especially that it brings memories from when I was little in the Bronx, when da song waz hott.

I'm also very fond of Expose's trademark panting whisper: ..."Aaaahhhh"..
lol.

LOL! I feel ya!

I like the beat, but the vocals of the original group were somethin' horrible yo!Rounding up a new 3 was mos def the thing to do! The song was kewl, but "Come Go With Me" is the best Ex track in my opinion!

"Exposed To Love" was always a true freestyle classic for me, I've like it from the start. It's kinda expose's "sleeper" hit. It was also one of the first 12" singles I ever bought (and still have!!!).

Wassup BBOY, will definately get in contact papo! (lol@innocence lost).

MARKLUVCYNTHIA,
I dont agree that the 1st Expose's vocals were horrible. That would mean Freestyle diva Sandee' is horrible. Along with Ale' who released da freestyle 1988 jam "I Wanna Know", & is also the lead on "Exposed To Love".

Now I do agree with MARK on the original version of "Point Of No Return"(1984-'85), which lead vocals were done by Laurie Miller. The vocals weren't "all-that" I know she coulda done better! But the original is still a classic.

One of my fav's is also "Come Go With Me"

: P

I loved this song. Expose is my favorite freestyle act/artist of all time. Too bad Arista dropped them in '94. Too bad also, that Ann, Jeanette and Gioia were not able to re-do this song for the Exposure album like they did on later pressed copies with Point of no return.
Gioia is the only active member still in the biz from what I understand. Ann has dabbled in some solo stuff as well and as a silent singer on some of the Clueless projects. "ONE" was a great freestyle track from her back in 1998. Kelly, the replacement for Gioia, I heard is doing alternative music now.

actually
"exposed" to love was the first expose record in production at the same time lewis martinee was producing sequels"its not too late".
this came right after his involment in the "woman" project with techno lust (he would produce the folowing techno lust "Feel the need").

"exposed to love" was a very street miami record at the time and was along the lines of the earlier debbie deb and artist like cynthia roundtree and starquest. the first first versions of the record..never before heard by anyone but the few of us who have access to the actual reels have heard them.

it was the only record not reproduced and on all further albums, its the original girls singing it.

although, there were no picturs on their first first first album.. there was a music video for "Exposed to love" and also "point of no return" with the original memebers. where in both the girls are all decked out in early 80's street clothes, riped shirts, parashute pants and have that punk rock meets breakdancing look. the crowd is all latin kids dancing in a disco tech and street popin n locking.

there is also a video for sequels' "its not too late" and techno lust's "woman" all shot around the same time late 82 and early 83.

alot of the expose stuff was already done..it wasnt till later that the material would be released to the public and thenm rereleased several times with a change of memebers.

sandee is still performing shows and her "notice me" (the tod terry house version has been converted to breaks). all the samples that the earlier majic carpet ride sampled are found here).it has now goten a breaks remake and is rising out of the orlando and tampa region and miami underground along other break/freestyle artist.
(records like noels "silent morning" and sandee's notice me, alishas"to turned on" and other records like "just be good to me" and "object of my desire" have all goten remakes of breaks and are scorching the florida breaks regions,, with or withought the original artist knowing about it. remixes, not remakes). It is also surfacing in house versions in the gay clubs of miami.
her famouse RRRRRRRRRPA!! is being sampled over and over and infusing mixes allover.
she also has new projects coming out and is in circles of people who have ties to labels like *69, jellybean and others. at the moment we dont know were she will lead, but she also plans to take the salsa route.

sandee is a pioneer, one of the first boriqua artist on the freestyle scene that lounched a solo career that would mark her a Fever records legend, have her album on columbia, work with c&c music fcatory, todd terry and many others and one of the first to grace the stage of new yorks devils nest and other legendary clubs.

and now she sits back and looks at the freestyle community now....
also looks at the rave scene..undersatnds the evolution going on
all i can say look out, cuz one of the first will be coming soon to fix what others couldnt. represent what others failed to represent.

it would be a continuation.
