I wondered what was the inspiration for the older freestyle records making those incredible Dubs (aka Omar Santana oh oh Dubs, Berrios dubs like that stuff) . I wondered what was the Origin of that and the reason for making them. I remember being a teen, and just having fun using them dubs in my mixxes.

I wondered what was the Origin of that and the reason for making them. I remember being a teen, and just having fun using them dubs in my mixxes.

My guess is that they were probably created for club use and extra beats. Dubs aren't fit for radio but a lot of times they have some hot shyt that's not in the original "radio-friendly" version.

A way to release some hot, leftover creative energy. Lol

I remember having a lot of fun using them and I still use them to this day. I automatically buy at least 3 copies of a song if it has accapellas, dubs, and the original version just so I can have fun with it. One song in particular is "Scars of Love". I would use the dub mix with " It's Like That Way" (Rundmc) and everyone always asked for a copy of it. It gave that HIPHOP flavor to the song that Kay7 refers to.By the way, good choices on your list. I am going to pull them out and have some fun.
