Tomorrow is a very important day to remember.......

So make sure you..................

go to the record store and get a copy of Madonna's new album, "American Life"!!!!!!!

Haha!

:blah bet you thought it was more important than that, huh? :blah

UM.....NO. After that crap she played in the politcal arena, I would rather use her cd as a "coaster".

now, she is trying to play "all innocent". I don't think so.

Oh boy.

Here we go.

So in other words, (not trying to start a fight, just a debate) because her opinion went against popular opinion, she shouldn't voice it. She never said anything against any troops, just against the war in general.

It's the same thing with the Dixie Chicks. Why should they be punished for speaking their minds? Isn't that what being an American is about?

I bet there are plenty of people who don't agree with Bush sending troops to Iraq, but didn't say it out loud for fear of repurcussions.

Anyone can voice their opinion. But remember, opinions are like assholes, everyone has one. (not insinuating anyone is an a*****e in here!!)

She probally thought that she was an "untoucable" person and she would not feel any retribution for speaking out BUT for something that was this important to this country, not many people coincided with her. Not many fans felt the way she did. This isnt 1985 anymore. she may have led many people with the MADONNA LOOK back then but things are different now. No one wants to follow her.

Im sure a higher percentage of people would agree with Bush. Afterall, we didnt just go in there for us, we went in there for the people of IRAQ. They are free now. Can you sit back and stomach the type of torture they endured? I mean, a soccer player performs poorly and he getS put in a TORTURE coffin full of nails? Is that right? were supposed to let a guy like this rule?

Listen you!!!!!!!!

LOL! Just joking Kenny! Ya know I love debate! It's all good bud!

I'm not saying that Madonna thinks she's untouchable. After all criticism she went through in 92 with the "Sex" book, "Erotica" album, and "Body Of Evidence" movie, she was raked over the coals. She even had the Pope denounce her! How much worse could it get.

In all that time, with all the crap that came down on her, she never backed down, changed her music, or edited her videos. She pulled the original "American Life" video because she felt (as per her quote in "People" magazine) "Husbands, children, brothers, wives, and sons were over there, and people at home were worrying about them, I'd be putting salt in their wounds." The video is not anti-troops, it was anti-war, made with her hope that a war in Iraq could be avoided.

Personally, here's what irritates me. I feel we needed to go to war with Iraq. With all the crap we've dealt with here recently, going to war not only removed (I hope) a dictator, but showed other nations we're not afraid to defend ourselves. However, I have a number of friends who were against this war, and went to anti-war demonstrations. I would never consider holding this against them, because in America we have the right to voice our opinion on the state of our country. Just because Madonna is "famous", does that mean she should have to worry about her husband's film career, her children's safety, or her continued success in the entertainment business just becasue she disagreed with public opinion?

Why should the Dixie Chicks be banned from radio? What exactly did they do to deserve that? They called the president a name and disagreed with his decision. How many people who post to this board disagreed with something Bush Sr. did and voiced their opinon on it or called him a name? With something Clinton did? With something Carter or Ford did? Should people stop you from working and doing what you do, or stop you from being heard?

I saw a story on the news on how people are boycotting French resturants in the city, and they are going out of business. What did these owners do for that to happen?

I just think that it's very odd that this war was done for the sake of democracy (for the Iraqi people) and American people here with different opinions are being punished for it.

P.S. Kenny,

I truly hope that our difference in opinion will not stop you from listening to "ChuckD Radio.....Freestyle Forever!" 😉

Ahhhh who am I kidding....you probably don't listen to it anyway! :blah

LOL!!!!!!!!!!😀

Chuck, ya now i love ya! (like a brother...AHEM!)

but war is a very touchy topic. it can split a nation in 2 or unite it. Im sure if Iraq did something that was so obvious to us that we would have the entire nations support but since the US claims that they had their hand in the WTC attacks, (remember the mural our soldiers found a few weeks back?) we cant pin-point an exact and definate answer to why it was so essential to put SUDDAM out of power forever. We can only say he had his hand in the tragedy, making our attacks more unquestionable.

I support our troops 100%. if our friends and families can go to IRAQ to fight (remember, no one forced them to go, it was thier decision)I will support them all the way.
