Alot of songs, like Planet Rock, etc..influenced it's birth. However, there are too many songs that can be considered "the first one". The only right one is the one I say though 😱 😉 LMAO!! j/k
 
Well, they just played SHANNON on KTU and it clearly wasnt the freestyle slot. it was the STUDIO 54 show which simply close the case that it SHANNON "let the music play" is not FREESTYLE.
 
well i have shannon on atleast 5 freestyle mixes...i am sure it can be a toss up
 
My personal opinion is One More Shot by C-Bank and A.E.I.O.U. by Freeze were the first. They are, in my opinon, the earliest freestyle songs. They have all the elements that make up a true freestyle song (breakbeats, love theme, multi-edits, horns, etc...). They both came out in 1982. You can't get any earlier than that. Some people say they are not freestyle..I say prove me wrong with FACTS :blah 😉

im an electrofunker as well as a freestyler and tracks like let the music play, when i hear music, one more shot, dont stop the rock, i.o.u. are all electro songs. its only because some have female vocals that they get thrown in the fs category. if one would look at the elements of tracks like that it would be clear to see so. they were a part of the creation of fs but i dont thinl that there are fs.

planet rock was the conception, latin hip hop or whatever the stuff around 84-85 was called like lisa lisa (because she aint freestyle either sorry) was the growth period in mommy's womb, and 1986 beats like the cover girls show me and tka was the actual birth!

this is all my opinion.
