Hi my name is Jason. I have DJ-ed music on occasions as well as at clubs
and parties for over three years.

If you are starting out always remember that you are there for the
crowd - you're the host. Make sure everyone has a good time.

Create an atmosphere where everybody will surely turns their ears unto
what you are saying..and trying to share with them.

You're an entertainer, you're the show... So do things that will make
people remember their experience.

Whatever new tricks you have learned that could make them more
excited and enjoyed, do share it with sincerity.

Hope that little reminders could serve as tips to all DJ's starting out
to venture.

Good tips Jayson!
I want to add also this:
The DJ must play not only what he/she likes but what the crowd likes also.
Always arrive early and check all cables and sound. This way if anything is wrong you have time to get it working again. If using laptops to spin, make sure you have a backup hard drive or backup CDs in case if it goes down.

I’ve DJed at clubs with over 500 people and ones with 100. All clubs have a different demographic. One club I spun at was a diverse crowd. Another was an Asian crowd. Another was a more hip hop crowd. You just have to know your audience and cater to them. I hate techno, but if that’s what i felt would get the crowd dancing and having a good time, I spun it.

Yo Yo Yo!
Good tip, Jason!
That's the way you got to because at the end of the day, you got to play your system loud for a crowd, and you get to make them love you and spread your name all over town! YAYYY! and you get to do it forever and ever. Kinda.
I'm Dj Snoman from the Bronx I've been Djing since 1982, since 2009 like several wedding receptions, and sound support for a couple of town events nowadays I bring my laptop, VMS4 and 2 Alto powered speakers to family events so I can play my system loud for a crowd, and get to make them love me and spread your name all over town! YAYYY!
The saga continues :)
