I was reading a thread that asked who was the best DJ in your opinion and I thought that maybe Club freestyle could host a small battle and post it like they did with the new songs. Let it's members and visitors decide.

I think that there are two types of DJ's:

The one you listen to in your car and while at home........
And the one that you go listen to in a club...........

Personally, I love edits, but some find it hard to dance too especially girls. If done correctly, an even blend of the two can work well. My boy Juan kato back in the day used to have an excellent blend of edits and straight up mixing (lamour East)
Little Louie played a lot of dubs and some edits at the funhouse.
Baby J was good. Omar Santana was the DJ of the breakdance crew we were in Back in the 80's and one day he played at a block party and he freaked it just like he edits. I heard carlos play at palids or was it phaze 2 and he had a nice mix of edits and straight up mixing. I guess it's up to the listener. Some people cant even tell what an edit is and some dont care as long as it sounds good. Me .........I love the edits and always do......so until freestyle sells more than rap , make mine dj's that mix with edits..............peace luis
 
Didnt we just have a DJ battle a few months ago? JAMES ANTHONY was clearly the winner. I dont think it would be fair to have another one when he hasnt even enjoyed his victory yet.
part of his deal was to spin for RIOS' parties @ BACKDRAFTS. never saw that happen, by the way.
like i sad, the DJ battle has been done.
 
more dj's could participate

Over this wonderful medium we call the internet, more dj's could enter. Not every good dj was able to attend the battle. and not every dj lives in the tristate area. not every dj can get on a plane and spend a few hundred dollars to stay in nyc. The internet would allow dj's from all over the world that play freestyle the opportunity to enter the contest. dj's could upload there mix to jack and let him post it. The internet would also allow all the fans all over the world to listen to the mixes. a panel could pick 5-6 records that every dj would use in his mix. this would even out the playing field a little. It's just an idea. I think it would be nice.

Alex, I was talking about mixing, NOT PRODUCTION. Most comps don't have edits. Singles do. Did you like the edits on jazmine and myrna li?????????????????????????????????? also my bro and I did edits on a mix tape we did with dj paradise called the best of the best. If you listen to that mix you will have more than a fill of edits.

seek it out im sure you will like it.
 
Hey that actually sounds like a good idea....It really wouldn't be a battle in the traditional sense of the word though....Maybe an "internet battle", and of course I would be down to do something like that! As for what Kenny said: expect me to DJ the next MAD event. Yes, its been five months, I know.... *Sigh*
 
stop talkin all this junk and let's get the battle on...DJ'S CHOICE OF SONGS!!....and as far as mixed tape??naaaaaaa.....let's take this live and if u make so much cheddar....fly down to ny and set it off!...i'll be more than happy to blast that a$$ back to chi town....let the battles begin!!!!!!!
 
HEY......I SAY WE ALL START A "POOR DJ FUND" SO WE CAN FLY ALL THE DJ'S THAT ALWAYS USE THE EXCUSE THAT NYC IS TOO FAR AWAY FOR THEM TO TRAVEL TO SHOW THIER STUFF. WHERE ELSE WOULD YOU GUYS LIKE A DJ BATTLE? PERHAPS IN YOUR GARAGE? THINK OF THE TRAVEL EXPENSES THAT WOULD SAVE!!

alex i think the mix is available online at paradises site.

guys and gals this was a thread i posted in a sportsman like way, not an angry post. please don't mess it up with angry post. dj's can express themselves in a professional manner with their skills. i think jack might give it a go and then we can all prove ourselves with our talents..........

i propose 1 tka, 1 safire, 1 judy torres, 1 cynthia, and one new school record that has a dub so we can slice and dice and mix away.........what do you people think......?????????????
 
WE SHOULD HAVE DJS PERFORM IN THEIER AREAS FIRST THEM THE INNERS COULD GO MEET AT A NEUTRAL SPOT WHERE EVERYONE MAY HAVE EASY ACCESS TO. (VEGAS, NEW YORK, CALI)
 
im all for edits....i think it's so hot when a freestyle song has a hard beat,beautiful lyrics and some really crazy edits, that to me is true freestyle!
something thats been missing for a while in our music.....
bring them back!
