Now that Kim's mom & dad are both dead we are thinking of finally getting custody of her sisters (Dayna is 17 & Mandi is 12). They been living with us for a few years now anyway & we been basically raising them since they were born. It's a big step so I'd love to hear thoughts or advice from everyone!!!!! Thanks!!!! 🙂
 
Sietz's if you've been doing it for several years now then getting custody of them would just legalize everything for all you and Kim have already been doing. 😉

right LaBetty!!!! Thanks!!!! that's what we're thinkin, stuff like their health insurance & school, etc which we already deal with anyway, would just be slightly easier 🙂
 
I think you should go for it...they already live with you so I'm sure you provide everything for them....

What is it that you need advice on? or let me rephrase the question.

thanks Tita!!!!! I have no doubts. It's more of a "shouldn't we leave well enough alone" thought, like are people gonna come to my house to see their living conditions, etc.
 
Sietz, you guys have been doing fine all this time. There shouldn't be any problem in you legalizing everything now that both parents are deceased. It's for the benefit of the children. They need good legal guardians to provide love, shelter, food, and guidance.
 
You should be fine.

You've had them for several years...unless you live in a zoo...I wouldn't worry about it! 😛

I say go for it! Eventually it's gonna make everything (I.E. School, health ins., etc.) a little less of a headache for you to deal with. 🙂

I say go for it you would be doing a beautiful thing I mean you have been doing all the raisng and this way would legalize it if anythign was ever to happen you guys are there guardians 😀
