Ok, I ran into a guy who lives by me one saturday when i was doing my garage sale runs. I took a peak in his garage and he had about 100 computers!!! I asked him what he was doin with so many computers and he said he owned a place in brooklyn that repairs and sells them.

now, heres the thing:

he want to sell me a refurbished computer for $250. he said its a pentium 3 and it had 400 megahurtz.

I found out from a friend that the P3 only comes with 450 or higher, so naturally, the guy made a mistake. he said he doesnt know much about computers but his technicans are the experts.

what i want to know is that is 250 a good price for a refurbished pentuium 3?

how many rams should it have? and how many megahurtz should it have?

thaNKS!!!!!!

It all depends on what will you do with the new computer. Will you be playing the new intense games out there, will you be doing lots of editing with photos and videos? If you're just going to use it for everyday things don't bother. You could get a brand new P4 with at least 2.8mhz and 512MB ram for about 700 from dell. By the way if you are into heavy editing that computer will be too slow. The Min. Ram you should have is 512MB.

Kenny,

I wouldn't bother buying a ''refurbished one''. Nowadays u can pruchase a PC for $399 and new with about 80 gigs. Pentium 4. 256 megs. Sometimes they have rebates. Like LatinoCop said, u never know what could happen later on after many uses. It'll slow down or freeze, etc. Rather than go through headaches :sick later, buy new.
