Company B was dropped from Atlantic Records after their 6th single "808 Express b/w Bougle Boy" only scratched the Hot 100. (Funny- that would be considered a success today!)
The personnel shifted a bit (but Lori L remained the lead vocalist as she was on all but one of Company B's hits - she did not sing "Perfect Lover", but Sang "Full Circle", "You Stole My Heart", "Fascinated" and "Signed") and released their 7th single back on their original Florida label "The Summer". They recorded enough material to combine with stuff that never made the first 2 LPs (or that got buried) and released two more rather awful CDs on The Summer records.
A project to reunite Producer Ish with 3 of the original vocalists failed after some material was recorded. The full-length was to be called "B United". A remix of Fascinated surfaced in 1997, likely from this project. It never found a major label and is out of print today.
I saw Company B back in '87. They were the bomb! The line up then was Lori L., Julie and Sheena B. Sheena sang lead on "Full Circle", Julie on "Fascinated" even though on the album she didn't. Gioia, from Expose, keeps in contact with Julie still to this day. Julie replaced Gioia when Gioia was having problems with her voice(throat)in '89. Julie has since retired from the biz and as everyone should know, Lori L. and Ish divorced some time back. I heard that Company B did release something back in '98 but were three different girls and that it was not freestyle and that it was awful. I loved this group, and like Expose, Sweet Sensation and The Cover Girls, I guess it is sad but safe to say, that this groups exist no more. I don't know about Sweet Sensation, since Betty Lebron still tours with two other girls, but there probably will never be any new material from her.
Charlotte McKinnon sang lead on "Fascinated" and then left Company B to pursue a solo career. Her songs consisted of "Honey Bee" and "Dance to the Rhythm". I wonder where she is now.
i remember hanging backstage with ish and lori right before a company b show at hot wheels back in 89....i was mad young but felt cool chillin with them. they had a great show by the way....they were da sh*T!
