As many of you have witnessed over the years, I am highly outspoken and often times disappointed by most new Freestyle releases. I am highly critical and always speak my feelings. Alot of people perceive this to be as hatred for the artists or even for Freestyle music. I would like to clear the air and set the record straight for the first and last time...
First and foremost - I LOVE FREESTYLE MUSIC!!! INSTEAD OF BLOOD,I HAVE FREESTYLE FLOWING THROUGH MY VEINS...TO SAY THAT I AM ON A QUEST TO DESTROY FREESTYLE IS LIKE SLAPPING ME IN THE FACE...
I have said many times that right now at this very moment in time Freestyle is in very sad shape. I have also said that I would rather see Freestyle die right now then to see it continue on it's downward spiril into the bowels of hell...I say this out of love. Let me put into perspective for you...
If you had a terminally ill friend or relative, wouldn't you rather see them depart from this world knowing that they are at peace and no longer in misery than to continue on suffering in agony? Well that is how I view Freestyle.
I would love to see Freestyle live through these tough times and thrive once again.
You might ask, why am I so hard on the artists and the new releases? The answer is simple. I want to see them put out the best Freestyle music they possibly can. Most of the new releases have not been their absolute best. There has been a countless slew of remakes and Planet Rock based Freestyle songs for too many years now (since 1993)...It seems that a lot of the fresh ideas and originality have all but left our music. (K and Ty - I haven't forgotten about you - see below)
When I criticize, it is never an attempt to badmouth anyone. It is never an attempt to end anyone's career. However it is an attempt to get them back into the studio and try harder!!!
K-7 and Ty Bless have revealed their ideas for the evolution of our music. I think that they definitely have something to work with by combining elements of today's hip-hop and yesterday's Freestyle music. My only comment is that I still feel the BPMs need to be faster than 100...(110-120 BPMs perhaps)...I wish you guys success as you try this new formula.
When I mentioned in a joke thread yesterday, I am ofter mis-understood. I hope this helps to clear up any misconceptions some of you may have had about me.
I am and will forever be a fan of Freestyle. As long as the music is good, I will support it...
