here's another edition of Childhood Radio. The time women looked great in videos wearing clothes.LOL.

Todays' spotlight is Mariah Carey. She was the diva who was to be the one to Dethrone Whitney Houston. She did not do that, but showed the world that she could hold a great high tune. Maybe she should not have tried being more hip hop nor try to act. But Mariah was a true 90's diva.

Here are my 5 mariah Tracks.

Vision Of Love

Love Takes Time

Someday

Everytime You Need a Friend

Dreamlover.

Yeah Mike...Vision of Love came out in 1990 when I was a sophomore in high school. I guess when I think of my childhood, I think of Culture Club and Duran Duran lol But I love this Childhood Radio thing you are doing..its a lot of fun! 🙂

Mariah is my girl! This is a lil' something I posted back in the day....I ABSOLUTE-ly love this lady....'breakdown' or not:

The show was amazing! That's all I have to say. From her wardrobe, to her angelic voice, to the stage props that were used, the dancers, the band, the back-up singers, EVERYTHING was spectacular.

Her voice is captivating on CD, but to see her perform live was something that I really needed to experience.

She opened up with "Heartbreaker" and walked in from behind the audience, down the center aisle, and worked her way on stage. That's how a performer should make her entrance. Diva? What? To say the least.

She did about a two hour set, taking a 2 minute break in between to change her wardrobe and her hair style. Some highlights of the show were "Heartbreaker", "My All" (both the slow and House version), "Through The Rain", "Fantasy", "Honey", "Dreamlover", "Can't Take That Away", etc.

She covered this song from Def Leppard, it's on Charmbracelett, and I can't think of the song right now but the way she sang it was SO on point that it gave me chills.

She ended with "Hero".

I got a chance to meet her later on in the night. She was eating at this restaurant called Davio's and she signed my album cover.

But I really had a great time at the concert. She really put on an amazing show and she was very interactive with the audience.

She's definitely amazing in every way!!! I don't care what anyone says about her. She came out when I was 7 and I loved her since then. I have all her CD's, videos, etc..........

I cant believe I forgot to list some of my fave songs:

My All and Never Too Far Away
Prisoner (AWESOME song from her debut album)
Also love her versions of Open Arms, Against All Odds, and Bringin On The Heartbreak

Yep, I forgot "Never Too Far" also. Gotta luv when she holds that note at the end. She's just gonna pass out one day! lol

I think her new album is supposed to be out in a couple months. So far she supposed to have Kanye West, Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, LA Reid, & R. kelly to produce. Oh yes....this gonna be a hot 1!
