I'm sorry; but that definitley has been the most inaccurate explanation of freestyle I've ever seen.

The simple fact that it mentions it's been around since the late eighties (not true) and 90 percent of the songs borrowing the breakbeat from planet rock is just not accurate.
Does; TKA, Judy Torres, Covergilrs, Giggles, George Lamond, Lizette Melendez, Corina, safire, The latin rascals, trilogy make use of the recycled beat. All of these artists biggest hits benefited from orginal beats without the use of electro style or planet rock to define their sound with the exception of Lizette Melendez who used the sing song loop and A Day in my life that used the wanda d loop which were hip hop breaks.

It was the 90's freestyle defined as new school that borrowed heavily from this electro/ planet rock sound.

with the exception of the cover girls "don't stop now" , all the audio examples of freestyle music was awful!!!
