Well the U.S. lost to Holland yesterday 2:0 in their final Pre-World Cup game. They are going to have to get their defense on track a little better. Too many mistakes. The Dutch goalkeeper was extaordinary. He blocked about 9 shots on goal. The U.S. needs to defend better and put the ball in the net if they want to go far in the tournament. The U.S. plays their first game on June 5 against Portugal. That will not be an easy game. Have a good on Peter.

Oh my God, i cant believe it......
Real Madrid had beaten Bayer Leverkusen (Germany) 2:1
Leverkusen was the better Team with more activity.....
That´s not fair😡

:shakinboo

Peter, Leverkusen did a great job to get that far, especially beating Man. Utd. and Liverpool in the earlier rounds. But in the end, it all came down to a FANTASTIC goal by Zidane. When you have as much talent as Real Madrid has, you don't always have to outplay your opponent to win. I felt sorry for Leverkusen. They almost had a treble and couldn't win one in the end.:crap

I hope Germany does well at the World Cup. But I think the best teams are France and Argentina.

@ Gornicevo,

Zidanes shot was kinda "SUNDAYSHOT" and Leverkusens Goalkeeper Butt must have this Ball, cause he was in that Corner...But now it´s over.

Personally i think that Argentina wins the Cup....I still hope for Germany.....and also for my bottle Champagne....@ Francis:stoned

Ok my soccer loving friends. Are you ready or World Cup 2002? I know I am. I will be glued to the TV for most of the games. This World Cup will definitely be exciting. I know Britfan will be rooting for England. Francis will be rooting for France. Peter will be rooting for Germany, and yours truly will be routing for the USA. Once again I will list the countries that have a chance of going all the way:

England
France
Italy
Argentina
Brazil is a big question mark(?)
Maybe Sweden
Maybe Portugal
Maybe Nigeria

Maybe you will agree or disagree. Tell me what you guys think. I know there will be lots of sleepless nights for me. Have a good one people.

@ Harry,

i agree with
France and Argentina

2 outsiders are Italy and Brazil for me

The same goes for Germany.....

Nigeria,Portugal, Sweden ??? I dont think so....

But there will be a big ???? behind SPAIN..........

Greetings
Peter

Personally, I will be cheering for Germany. 😀 They have always been my favourite team even though I'm not German; I do have several relatives in Germany (mainly in Dusseldorf). I don't really think they have much of a chance, though (too many injuries and ???).

I think France are an even stronger team this time than they were in 1998 (especially in attack). However, I heard Zidane injured his thigh in a friendly yesterday and this would definitely hurt the team. But even without him, they still have a very strong team.

Argentina has to be considered a co-favourite with France. They are LOADED with talent.

Italy is another strong team that has a very good chance to win. Same for Brazil, Spain and Portugal.

England have injury problems and Beckham won't be match fit for the start. If England were healthy, they would be a bigger threat.

My Prediction: FRANCE 😉
