Could someone recommend a decent cd recorder under $500 for making mix cd's? I recently bought the Fostex CR500 Master recorder, but I don't think its capable of making one continous mix while still having tracks in it. There will a slight pause, even though ever so slight it ruins the whole idea of mix cd, I never liked that short pause, especially right in the middle of a killer mix. I seen one a while ago but can't remember or find it, on this one you could go back after the set was done and insert the track wherever you wanted and not have to worry about reaching over and doing it in the middle of a mix..

any help much appreciated, thanks...djc.

P.S. I will send whoever replies a copy of the first mix cd I make once I get the recorder and figure it out. I just put a set together and will be making one this week on the Fostex, but it will have the short space between tracks. I owned a straight basic mixer with no trim controls for 8 years. Last week I bought the Pioneer DJM 700, WOW! is all I can say about this mixer. But its a whole new ball game and it wil be a while before I master this thing and develop my own style on it. Even with this new technology, I will never touch cd's...strictly vinyl to the day I die. Its addictive using the sound effects, but I have to tame myself as too much is not good either. I own arpound 600 freestyle records and my collection is growing. I have some serious tracks, that would make a fanatic cry...djc.
