*Can Someone Explain To Me...*

..why Madonna's "Spotlight", Regina's "Baby Love", and Alisha's earlier hit's all sound similar to one another. For example, I read somewhere that "Baby Love", supposedly written by Regina was supposed to be sung by Madonna, but Madonna turned it down, therefore Regina kept it for herself. And it became a sure hit. And Regina's vocals sound identical to Madonna's.

I also read somewhere that Alisha, in some way or another was compared to Madonna, circa 1985-86, etc. and they both recieved serious airplay but there was some sort of radio-rivalry going on. I don't know.

Anyone have any info on this that they'd like to share?

I remember the very first time I heard Alisha's "Baby Talk" I thought it was Madonna 🙂
