Within the last couple of years break beat/freestyle orinated music has been making waves over here. Some call it pop, two step, freestyle, bass etc

Another act to look out for, is Tymes 4, from the U.k. With a song called "Body Rock".

It may not be 100% freestyle but it's close.

I THINK I KNOW THE SONG "BODY ROCK". ITS MORE ON THE HIP-HOP SCALE WITH PLENTY OF B-BOY BREAKS. THE SONG HAS BEEN OUT FOR QUITE A WHILE.

Call it freestyle, breakbeat, electro, 2 step, west coast, east coast, old skool, funkymelody, etc. it is all good and let's be happy the genre is moving forward and getting noticed around the world, especially in Canada, Europe and Brazil. Not everything will sound like your definition of freestyle or what plays in NYC or the USA. At least overseas, freestyle records are charting, getting radio play and being pressed/distributed by major labels; something the genre really needs at the moment.
