If you're talking about the funk disco record, It's "Dazz" by Brick and it's from 1976.
 
ok so i guess that confirms that its a cover version. no this one is from 1987 and is remixed and edited by the latin rascals. beats are very hanson & davis hungry for your love-ish.

it is an awesome track and had heavy rotation in it's day and harv already cleared it up....
