sup people! stoppin in to say hello to all..it's been a minute since i've posted on any of the freestyle boards...needless to say, it's nice to be back.
I just finished a Freestyle Record with Joey Kid titled "See U In My Heart" ...the song is still in the process of getting multi-edits post production so what we have for you to listen to right now is the version without the edits...please find a moment and visit Joey's Myspace page and you'll find the song there in his player...let him know there is support for his music and what you think.
love and respect to all,

Joey I'm feeling the song bro. It's been to long since we last heard new material from you.can't wait to buy it...This is Marlon from Diesel on lex, remember? lol
Hope all is great.

MARLON

Not bad I feelin the song, it does not have a fast beat, its more of a lounge song but I like it. It reminds me of crusin on the streets of New York. LOL I can not wait to buy this song also. Frist Carlos Berrios and now Edwin Ramos. Keep them coming.

Nu' said Make mine Freestyle Babe.

The song is okay-not exciting-but not bad... I give it a B- for lyrics and music... however, the intro to the first verse is WAY TOO LONG.

HELL YEA!!!

This is what I'm talking about!!!

This is what freestyle should sound like in 2008. This is the best track made in the last ten yrs...if you're not feeling is because you're stuck in the 80's period.

This to me is mind blowing and innovative. Its 2008 people get with the times.

All I want to know is....how can I purchase this?

I can see this being played on Hot 97, Z100, Power 96, Pulse....

Ed Ramos you did an outstanding job. Joey put down the vocals only like he could.

OFF THE CHAINS!!

Exellent smokin' slow freestyle song. Best song from Joey Kid since the late 80s
(and perhaps early 90s)

I hope the track has much success.

Kid Heartbreak...what do you think?
Ain't this track dope!

It's definitely different. Very r&b. Would work very well right next to all those recent r&b songs that use freestyle beats. Dude definitely has the vocals to hang with them. When I say that freestyle artists/producers should be more experimental, this wasn't exactly what I had in mind (I'm not an r&b head). It is quality music, just not for me. I want something that's gonna make me feel more hype. The song is cool for something different but I wouldn't want to hear a whole bunch of freestyle songs like this consecutive.

When I said freestyle should experiment more with sounds that would appeal to newer audiences, I meant something more like that Coro "Where Are You Tonight" reggaeton remake that Phantazma had posted a link to here on NYF a couple months back.

True...but check this out...I played the song over the phone for my sister....and I asked her "what does it sound like" she said "FREESTYLE".

She's not a freestyle freak like me. So I kinda take her gut reaction more to heart.

But I understand clearly your point of view.

Here's the thing. I always thought Joey Kidd's music had a touch of r&b to it. Just tlisten to his stuff from 88. Even though the beats were fast...he laced his vocals very sensaully...thats all r*b is 😀

this can go gold!!!!

hi guys, really happy to see the reaction to this song....thanks to all who appreciate the work.

thank you all for your support...without your support..freestyle stays in "Life Support".

best,

song is definetly hot.. and taking classical elements of something that worked before and modernizing it without breaking the integrity of the original (take joeys vocals out for a sec and sing with me).. "hot steamy nights alone i wait for you..cold brittle morning alone ,and i cry for you..and when you finally call..you cloak your moves in the shadows" straight from 1986 to now tweaked a little and modernized and it works , something for others to follow suit.. a good example of not falling into "xerox production" found in raegatton or techno or modern house.. if youre referring to I or other members not being "into" those categories youre right..if i was intrested I would visit forums pretaining to those forms of music..,(an example of trying to adapt along that line is displayed on joeys page imeditately following this track and is not as impressive result in an attempt to modernize broken promises..actually its pretty bad)
if thats youre personal preference fine..please try not to take it personal when I make comments about them and reflect positvely in the fact that we both at least have agreement that this track is good thing to happen and overdue for a while to a style we both appreciate.
