Sony Pictures said Monday (March 7) that it will release "Bewitched," one of its big summer movies, two weeks earlier than planned.

The film, starring Nicole Kidman and Will Ferrell (news), will bow June 24 against Warner Bros. Pictures' "The Dukes of Hazzard" and the Walt Disney Co.'s "Herbie: Fully Loaded" rather than its original release date of July 8.

Based on the 1960s sitcom starring Elizabeth Montgomery, "Bewitched" is directed by Nora Ephron from a script she co-wrote with Delia Ephron and Adam McKay.

It will be a battle of the tv shows....who will win...Bewitched....or Dukes????

and I wonder if Jessica Simpson will cause a revival in the "Daisey Duke" shorts craze?

I guess these movies will be known as "Blockdusters" 🙂

I love this SHOW and hope the movie will do it justice! One of my favorite shows of all time!

Innocent shows like that lasted a long time because the children then loved it. Todays kids, don't show interest in shows like that. So I don't know how well it will do on the big screen.

Yes but kids like Fantasy ..... Bewitched is fantasy and also has magical funnies

I hope Dr Boombay is in there

I hope her Cousin is in it..lol I saw the trailers for it, it looks cute.

Sounds like a "blockbuster" rental one to me.. I won't be paying to see it.. I really don't care for Nicole Kidman.

I liked her in "OTHERS" and in "PRACTICAL MAGIC"

I don't know... yeah, kids are into violent games (mine is anyway), but they love silly movies... I guess maybe because it's something we all do. Kids needs to lose themselves in the land of make believe sometimes so I'm sure they'll want to see this (if I ask them to go anyway)

I'm not a big Nicole Kidman fan either, but I did like this show, so maybe I'll see it.

As for Dukes of Hazard... I never really got into that one, but I like Jessica Simpson (yes, I'm admitting it... she's a little on the dizzy side like me and I like her for it. lol) so maybe I'll see it. (probably on tape though... lol)
