best canadian freestyle singer

I was just wondering who you guys think is best canadian freestyle talent out there right now? In my opinion its gotta be ELISSA. i've been following her career since 1996 and I must say that this girl is amazing in terms of releases, production, song writting, vocals etc..... What do you guys think?

I agree with you, hard2pleez, Elissa is one of the best talents in freestyle scene right now ("I can't stop" has been constantly played over here, like "Back to me" and "Show mw how you love me" had been as well). The other canadians that I like are Cris and Alexia Phillips, Joee and Dimi.

I really like all of Joelle's songs. I dunno why they don't give her as much attention as others...

As for Elissa, the only song I REALLY liked is Back To Me.

Also, more of a side note, there's Dion. Remember him? Magic and Maybe. Is he concidered freestyle? Dance? He said at Hot Rush 99 that he was coming out with another track, but I never heard anything about it since. I love his 2 songs though, solid tracks!! I still go crazy when I hear them.

If you're asking about Dion, 2 years ago he said he was gonna have a new song. Then he just disappeared after the summer of 99 and the "new song" never came out. If you're asking about IDS, I dunno hehehehe

Yep I do agree with everybody else on Elissa but I would also have to say Dimi her new song "only one" is real nice. I think she has such a very unique voice😉 .

Thereo, they're working on a track together, if you listened to the Frenzy this past Sunday, you woulda known that. 🙂 They were both in the studio and said they're working on a song together... Chao$, Dimi is a great artist too, don't forget though, Elissa wrote that song. 😀

I own 3 Canadian artist records. VLA - I gave My Heart, Vincent V. - Sweet Lil Lady, Elissa - Show Me How You Love Me & Sarina Paris - Mystery Man.

I can not say who is the best singer out of those. I guess it would have to be Elissa. Not if you were to ask "Who is the most popular Canadian artist in San Antonio I would have to say VLA. He came down last year & had to be brought back again by popular demand.

You can't compare all Canadian/American artists with one another.
Each artist have their own unique style/attribute which makes them distinctive in itself. If they had the similar qualities and the majority of the songs had the same beat, the scene would be DRY!!! Each has his/her "PaZZAZ" for lack of better term which exemplifies "Talent".
They really all are gifted individuals.
INNOVATION/EXPERIMENTATION/DEDICATION are 3 key components to Freestyle Fame N Fortune.
