Im really surprised because KTU hasnt been promoting this concert at all. We have no idea what artists are performing or anything. With the first Beatstock, they promoted it like crazy.
KTU mentioned the show happening for a couple days when the tix first went on sale... and that it! No artists have been anounced or anything, they do not mention it at all... i'm sure they'll start promoting it soon... I mean, there is still 2 months till the show... so.... they got time...
last years was awesome and im sure this years will be just as good!
I don't think that Marc Anthony will be there. If you go to his website, he is scheduled for shows outside of the NYC area on those dates. He is scheduled to have his own concert as is Mary J. Blige at Jones Beach Theater. It is very strange that the tickets went on sale before any artists were announced. At Beatstock 2001, the dj's from KTU boasted that they were going to beat their Guiness Book of World Records accomplishment from 2000 of the most artists ever to appear on one stage. I would think they would try to promote the hell out of these shows. Tickets are available through the ticketmaster website as of this morning for both locations.
the 2000 concert was a big one. the show started at 12 and went well over 10pm. they started very late in the evening last year with jones beach. I dont know if they can squeeze that many acts within the small amount of time they have. i guess well have to wait and find out. (or maybe one of the acts performing can give us some 411)
but its possible for MARC ANTHONY to be there. just because he has a show out of new york the day before has very little to do with it. ive known artists that have performed in cali one day then in nyc the next.
another reason for the lack of announcements can be simply supported by the fact that the tickets have sold out. last years ticket sales sold out in 1 hour. so, why advertise for a show that no one can get tickets to? i bet the last few weeks they will be giving tickets away like candy.
