Tomorrow; St Paddys day 8 blocks from me on Capitol Hill; Sammy Sosa, Mark McGuire, Raffel Palmaro, Jose Canceco,Frank Thomas and Curt Shilling will be testifying before Congress about baseball and steriods. Well, i'll be drinking Guinnes and watching the NCAA Tourney!!!! I'm not going to be watching this junk

whatever. I understand the mentality about not wanting to snitch, but people are getting recognition for "home runs hit" and such, and they are not doing it naturally, and making themselves out to be heroes.
 
I like how Baseball officials like Commisiner Selig was being hammered about the 5 strikes and maybe you are out. I find their policy a joke. An avg. person or HS athlethe could get a far worst punishment which could mena jail time.
 
I believe Mark McGuire was fingered out in Jose's book, no? He said they both shot each other in the butts with the steriods, but I might be wrong. Either way, he sure as hell was dodging questions (heard clips on the radio), but he also wouldn't say any names. He called the other players his friends and would never rat them out (not worded that way, but you get the picture).

There were apparently a few parents there whose kids died using steriods. I guess they link their frame of minds with steriods because this one man's kid committed suicide and he blames the steriod usage. :confused

The way I look at it, these men are out there playing a game everynight and sometimes a double header and their bodies just can't perform... if they want to do that to themselves and it helps, then so be it. (I'm not for it or against it) but come on..... I could take all the steriods in the world, but that still wouldn't make me a good baseball player. So to say they're fake I think is wrong.

I don't know... it's a tough call. I don't want my boys to ever use these drugs or any drugs for that matter, but that's what I'll be there to stay on top of them. What these men do to their own bodies is on them.

Aaawww, forget, I'm against and yet, I really don't have any judgement feelings towards the users. (confused ya, didn't I?)
 
That was the big emotional testinmony was the man who's son committed suicide after he had kicked the steriod habit. It is just a big mess, Congress did say that if baseball don't get it's act together, they will step in. I do think they should have other athletes in like Olympic runners who are always getting caught with steriods, (yes Chuck) figure skaters, football players and HS coaches

I don't remember any figure skaters getting caught using steriods.

I recall an incident where a skater's test came back positive for something, but she was battling a cough, and it turns out one on the ingredients in the cough medicine was what caused her to test positive.
 
I saw it and McGwire made himself look bad. I always figured he was on some shit besides andro and by him running away from the questions, really the only one that dodged them, all the media is going to be all over him now and alot of his fans are going to be pretty disappointed in him bec he just made himself sound and look as a steroid user just by his no comment, past is the past testimony. So much for that 98 homerun chase between him and Sosa. And lets not forget I like Sosa, but his corked bat also ruined his rep too.
 
Well U know.. we are talking about McGuire.. but did you see Sammy's answers..? I dont know if maybe he just didnt know how to express himself, but he dodged a lotta questions too and answered unsure of himself..
I dont blame McGuire or anybody else for going in there and Pleading the 5th! They have every right to it.. Canseco is the only idiot in there "admitting" to taking steriods yet now he wants to be an advocate against it? What an azzhole! I laffed when he sat back and said "well I guess im the only one in here that took steriods" ..lol..
 
Some was a little shaky about Sosa and the inturputer. Sammy speaks good english. But Palmareo was the star when he looked into the eye of congress and said:'I never took steriods!"

YUP.He was the ONLY one that Came thru w/ looking like he was gonna defend himself up there.. He made it clear time and time again that HE did NOT take steriods ever..
