Back in the 80's Freestyle used to be called Latin Wave...At least that's what I called it....🙂😀

Nobody else has ever heard that? Maybe it was just in Montreal Canada, because alot of the Latino's up there reffered to the music as Latin Wave..

:nono Never heard that one here. The only name given to the music ..way back when ...that I can remember was just "CluB Music", "HeartthroB" & finally "Freestyle" I don't recall anyone that I hung out with even calling it Latin Hip-Hop or Latinwave for that matter.

that name is HISTORY now. people are using it to describe the latin-rappers (BIG PUN, FAT JOE, CYPRESS HILL) now.

Yup. we also called it "HOUSE" for a while till "FREESTYLE" was used.

tarp lol i feel that i am the one getting these people new freestyle and they keep killing me with"hey melissa you have any new house music"that gets under my skin.And it is sad cause even the store finally got hip to calling it freestyle and the cd's.We had lil suzy come to my town in oct and the flier said the queen of house music lmao that shit i have to scan.I was talking with her and she found that mad funny.

Well I think that Lil Suzy does have a few songs with house beats.. or at least remixes..

Most of the record shops here put freestyle music under the RAP Section!!
