To All The Freestyle Artists,

As much as I've said that I would never produce another Freestyle Record, I find myself wanting to step into that water again. For old times sake. The new music seems to lack the fundamentals of a hit, which I've always believed to be the combination of a well produced track and vocal.

So out of pure curiosity and a need for fun, I'm offering the following.

I will personally produce a pure freestyle track (New School or Old School) for any artist that wishes to work with me. Unfortunately, there will be a fee. After many weeks of thinking about what I should charge (Obviously, there's a lot of work involved here) I decided the following:

For a track Produced, Vocals recorded, Mix and even Edits by me I'll charge the fee of $1,250. Flat.

If you live out of state and are willing to record your own vocals and do the mix on your own, we can discuss a different price.

I know to some this may be a hard hit and I apologize but as much as I would love to, I can't do this for free. Sorry.

Now, just in case I get overwhelmed, I'm offering this only to the first ten artists who contact me. So here is my e-mail.

berriosfilms@earthlink.net

When you contact me I'll give you my number and we'll talk. I'll fill you in on part 2 of a plan I'm mulling around. I know that some people will be intimidated. Don't be. Just drop me line. I'd love to hear from you anyway.

With the highest regard,

Carlos "After Dark" Berrios

Great to see you back. Freestyle is the people's music and the people should know this.

Just wanted to clarify the following,

My offer is extended only to artists that I have never worked with before. The idea is to give the newer artists an opportunity to work with me.

So, if you're one of the Freestyle Legends (George LaMond, Coro, etc.) you definitely get a different price. LOL! So don't try it! That applies to the labels as well. (unless it's for a new artist).

In the meantime, thank you all for the wonderful responses, and the e-mails.

I'll keep you posted,

Carlos "After Dark" Berrios

Just wanted to let everyone know that I've gotten terrific responses and it seems like I'll be working with people from all around the country. When the ten artist are finalized, I'll will post their names and cities up. In the meantime, thank you all for the kind words and the support.

Hope to hear your new sounds soon. c.b but is there any chance of you working again with George lamond & lisette?

Just wondering if there was a After dark comp released and if so what was the title & date released.

Good luck

Compilation

The Only Complilation I ever released was called

Carlos Berrios - presents - After Dark Freestyle Vol. 1

Released around 1994 on After Dark Records but no longer available anywhere. Although I do have all the masters. But the artwork is no longer available.

I'm planning another compilation but only if a decent label picks it up.
