for those of you that remember Cassanovas in Hialeah/Miami.
Pandisc Records will be releasing "A Night at Casanovas" mixed by legendary DJ Ciro Llerena..

Located in Hialeah, Florida, Casanova’s is the name of the legendary discotheque that flourished during the Disco era. Literally everyone who was anyone in the dance music industry performed at Casanova's from the late 70's to the early 90's. Hundreds of acts including Madonna, Vickie Sue Robinson, The Village People, Celi Bee, Sheila E, France Joli, Musiq and Lime, all made an obligatory stop at Casanova's when they were in South Florida. The turntables were manned originally by DJ Carlos "No Show" Nodal, one of the "original 8" Miami disc jockeys (the others being Artie Jacobs, Bill Kelley, Ashley, Bill Halquist, Bo Crane, Bobby Eckenwiler and Otis James). Carlos Nodal eventually shared the DJ duties with an underage (14 years old at the time) Ciro Llerena. This compilation "A Night at Casanova’s" represents a musical snapshot of a typical Saturday night set as mixed by DJ Ciro Llerena. Volume 1 is heavy on the Freestyle music that ruled the dance floor during the later years of Casanova's run. Local favorites Erotic Exotic, London Exchange and Secret Society are all represented on this compilation.

Damn.....this album sounds sick! I need this for my collection. The Freestyle scene in FL is what it's all about. Even in the mid-to-late-80's, shit was blowing up in Miami and the rest of the Dade County area and even though I was like 10 at the time, so many classic tracks were all OVER the radio.

Ya know if Sandee or Debbie Deb are on this compilation?

I hope Vol.2 does have Sandee', Debbie Deb, Trinere, Stevie B, Ale' (of Expose'), Promise Circle, Olga, G.T., Tolga, and many other Miami artists that rocked da house back in da day.
They gotta have Erotic Exotic's "L.O.V.E." in there too!

I have an interview with Gino Latino & I beleive another Miami artist or producer, talking about how they just stood there across the street & literally cried as they watched Cassanovas get torn down to the ground in the 90's. They said they had many many good memories there. Brenda K. Starr, George Lamond, & Angel of The Cover Girls also commented on the club & the good times they had there. It was really sad.
I am excited this comp is coming out, which is why I HOPE they have historic info & pics on the venue.

those are some great acts. i remember meeting & playing with all those acts.
I miss Ale, she was real sweet and a great talent.
I remember Gino too.

Hey Company B,

that website is really good. those pictures of Sequel bring back some great memories. Maria was and still is beautiful.
we used to travel a lot together to NY to do shows. I remember that Angie's mom lived in NY and we would go there to eat when we played there.

Sequel back together would be great.
I know Maria lives in NY, and as you know she's been doing very well for herself.
I'm sure if they do that we can get them some shows for sure.
 
this cd is awesome i got it the other day and it gave em goosebumps just listening to it
