but i do love his music

So did I..back in the late 80's. The passing of time has not been good to that sound.

When you think of classics from that era many many other artists are on the top or near the top of the list. It's like I still watch Miami Vice reruns, but I would never play their theme in a club today, where as others such as SS, TKA, Expose and others that I would play today without delay.

Some things need to be left in the past.

I never really cared for stevie b.. He was just ok.. But TKA, and Expose to me, are head and shoulders above Stevie b. He could not hold a candle to them.. I left stevie b in the past a long time ago :)

Just a quick comment about Stevie B's music.
To me he was never Freestyle. He was a Pop artist ...
I never mixed his music because to put it simple , you can't mix a Stevie B song with a real freestyle song. I mean you could but , it just doesn't sound right ... Stevie B' song just can't fit in between two Mic Mac records etc etc... It just doesn't work if you know what I mean ...

Thank you. That's what I've been spitting to everyone around me for the last decade and a half. During all these years that I've been making mixes, I only played his stuff one time (the song "I wanna be the one"). Whenever I go back and listen to that one blend, the song just sounds really out of place and I hate myself for playing it (even if it was in and out in less than a minute). I hate it when peeps be rep'n Stevie B whenever the topic of freestyle comes up. THAT'S NOT REAL FREESTYLE. IT'S NOT. PEEPS NEED TO LEARN ABOUT MUSIC.

I liked Stevie B's 80s music through 1990, and not beyond that. I never cared for his 90s music.

The King of Freestyle (George LaMond) would never stoop to this level of trying to con everyone out of their money.

Money has become the King of Stevie B, I'm sorry to say. very sad.

George and K7 are IMO are very class acts and more need to take note of this professionalism.

It is not a bad thing to make money, but it is a bad thing when it becomes the ONLY thing.

It's very interesting how the great overall consensus is negative about Mr. B here.

Could not have said it better myself... When it becomes all about the money, then people start looking at you in a different light.. As we are seeing in these posts..

I used to be a fan of Stevie B but of course the guy has scammed too many people. Especially this one guy i used to know in Canada who created a site for Stevie B. I dont know if they still talk or not but that was the first major scam I heard Stevie B do to someone where someone does work for you and Stevie B kept on coming up with excuses why he couldnt pay. Of course that site was shut down and someone else took over making a Stevie B site.

I'm kind of wondering what the point of this thread was to begin with. It's obvious that this artist was trying to pitch a scam to the fans. Judging by these responses, peeps see right through it. What was to be gained possibly by alerting everyone's attention to this? LOL
It was like showing us who Stevie B really is without having to say it in so many words. LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't know, the man personally and don't do businees with him, However wether it's called freestyle or whatever. The guy either wrote some good songs or surrounded himself with some good writers. The Postman song was a top ten billboard hit, something that not many if any "Freestyle" aritist have ever done.

but "The Postman Song" was a ballad, not freestyle. Other freestyle acts hit the top 10 of Billboard magazine with ballads.

Sweet Sensation - If Wishes Came True #1

The Cover Girls - We Can't Go Wrong #8

The Cover Girls - Wishing On A Star #9

Exposé - Seasons Change #1

Exposé - When I Looked At Him #10

Exposé - I'll Never Get Over You #8

If you want high freestyle songs on the Billboard chart, here are some "ifs".....

If you count Exposé as freestyle, "Point of No Return" and "Come Go With Me" both hit #5, and "What You Don't Know" hit #8.

If you count Linear as freestyle, "Sending All My Love" got to #5.

Corina got to #6 with "Temptation"

I can understand the degree of "hate" going 'round these here parts. *spits into a spatoon*...but to say Stevie B was never really FREESTYLE??? Come on. Some of his earliest stuff IS very pop (Spring Love, I Wanna Be The One), then again, so is TKA's One Way Love...but love him or hate him then or now, he IS Freestyle.

My sister has him as a "friend" on myspace...supposedly she gets lots of "hounding" messages...asking her to move him up to her "Top Friends" and he'll be checking to see if she did so, etc....sounded crazy to me, but now, I don't doubt it.

I also saw him a total of 3 times perform live...put on a great show. He sounds just like he does on his tracks (not everyone does that LIVE).

A pity money is what he's bout nowadays.
